'When choosing agriturismo in Italy we always look for nice places to stay and where we can have dinner. Borgo San Marco is a wonderful place to stay, but an awfull place to have dinner. To start positive; the location is splendid, the rooms are comfortable, the breakfast is very good, the people are very friendly. But the dinner, a set menu, is completely the opposite. Simple, badly cooked dishes at a very high price. A few examples; Asperges that are overcooked, spaghetti that has to be done...
'Erg mooi gesitueerd tussen olijfgaarden, deze oude gerenoveerde Masseria. Mooi zwembad met idyllische ligging. Eigenaar is uiterst vriendelijk en behulpzaam. Een welkomstdrankje mondt uit in een geuze aperativo inclusief zelf verbouwde olijven, amandelen en lokale ricotta en heerlijke bruscetta. Ultiem genieten van de rust. De kamer is zeer ruim en stijlvol ingericht. Het was wel vrij vochtig, waarschijnlijk door de weersomstandigheden en tijd van het jaar. '
'A bit difficult to find in the old city with a car. They also did not tell us that door would be locked and buzzer was not obvious. Otherwise room was wonderful in townhouse. Breakfast was terrific and Monopoli was the finest town yet on this Puglian adventure. We wished we had stayed another night. They also took care of our car and brought luggage and us to our room! "We just ended our three-day-stay at IlTrappetello and must say it was marvelous! Not only is the hotel itself worth seeing with its very nice interior details, the staff made us feel welcome from the first until the last minute of our stay. Located close to Monopoli, it’s a perfect spot for your visit to the coastline, without being in the hustle and bustle of the coastal towns. Don’t hesitate to also enjoy the lovely cuisine of the hotel. We mainly liked the creamy croissants for breakfast and the very charming Ferragosto dinner we signed up for the 14th of August. The staff is very caring, they even foresaw a bottle of prosecco since I was celebrating my birthday during our stay there. Don’t hesitate to also ask them about the interesting history of the hotel, since it adds to the story of your stay there! Overall, we were very happy with our stay at IlTrappetello, with its elegant architecture and incredibly kind staff. We’d love to come back one day 😊"
