'We stayed five nights at Charlie’s El Nido. We had fairly high expectations, as this was one of the most expensive hotels we booked during our six month trip through Southeast Asia (around $100 per night). Unfortunately, the experience ended up being quite disappointing. We booked a standard room and were placed on a basement floor. That wouldn’t have been a big issue, but it was quite a long walk with luggage and there is no elevator. The room itself was extremely small, with barely any space...

'The bedside lamp doubles as a phone charger and has a switch so you don’t have to get up to turn it off. Small thing, but I loved it and slept better than I have in a long time. The sea view room faces Bacuit Bay. It’s close to the port, so it’s a sea view but not quite a beach view. The hotel can arrange motorbike rentals and island hopping tours, though there’s no breakfast included. All things considered, Z Garden was the most comfortable place we stayed during our entire El Nido trip.'

'Their guest service is wonderful! The included shuttle to and from the airport and to local beaches is great! All of the staff are kind and attentive. I had issues with my first room but the hotel quickly provided a room move and sent me fruit and a bottle of wine. The location is situated close enough to town by walking but far enough to not be of the middle of it all. The cliff slide pool/roof deck area is beautiful. Loved the free tote bag as well. The turndown service was also very nice and...

'Beautiful signature view to the islands Great pool Nice green resort Breakfast ok but not great Location 5-10’ walking from town, at night it’s not convenient when there is high tide It’s overpriced but I’d book it again because in the Philippines you need to overspend to get something nice'
