'We will never return to this hotel unless it undergoes extensive renovation. POSITIVES: it appears the room has new furniture, new vinyl floor and a new bedspread. It has a microwave, mini-fridge, coffee maker and a small cable TV. The hotel was quiet and the bed was marginally comfortable. The tub was clean, but when the bathroom floor was mopped, large wads of soapy hairballs were left in the corners of the floor. NEGATIVES: there was a thick, offensive smell of cigarette smoke in halls...

'Overall, our experience was okay. However, wherever you turn, you notice little things . . . a loose shower handle, exposed nuts/bolts at the base of the toilet, etc. Simple maintenance issues that differentiate a down-at-the-heels hotel from a good property. As for room service, we never broke the code on which days our room might be made up. Better hotels tell you what you might expect at check-in. The hotel breakfast was no better or worse than that offered by the chains. On the plus side,...

'Front desk staff seemed like he was not happy to be there. He did not tell us about the continental breakfast, check out time, asked if I was a Hilton honors member, etc. Seemed annoyed to have to look up my member number by phone number. Alright neighborhood and room was decent - definitely need some work in the room and cosmetic upgrades.'

'The staff were very kind and the room was spacious and clean. The pool was quite run down and the skimmer wasn’t working as there were a bunch of hairs floating in the pool. (Black hairs, my husband is ginger and I am blonde so it wasn’t ours). One of the pool ladders is loose and when I went to climb out it shifted and I hit my foot and fell back into the pool pretty hard.'

'Hotel is a dirty disappointment. Needs a ton of maintenance. Pool was closed by health department. Room was only half cleaned. Left dirty towels and glasses. Room noisy from squeaking floors. Hallway carpets dirty. Poor breakfast choices.'

'The room was clean. There was a huge gap underneath the door to the hallway. We did not like that. It was loud at night.'
