'I am writing to express my disappointment with our stay at Danes Court. The property was not as described and had numerous maintenance and safety issues. Ensuite: The main shower didn’t work, lighting had no IP rating, the extractor fan was black, and the bath plug chain was broken. Main bathroom: The blind and shower head holder were broken, the window wouldn’t open, and there was nowhere to place toiletries in the shower. Downstairs toilet: The macerator caused foul smells through the sink...

'From the first welcome to the final farewell, it was a joy to stay there. Substantive breakfasts, pet friendly, old manor house setting with great views. Good choice of relatively local (less than 10 miles) public houses for evening fare. Already hoping to get back there when next visiting the Lakes, which start only six miles north.'

'Customer service stood out for me. I booked a certain room and initially didn’t get it. The lady at reception (didn’t get her name but she worked 1st Nov) ran around the hotel to sort out the room for me straight away. Room was super clean, quiet and stylish. Had the peaceful weekend I was looking for! '
