'This is our 4th or 5th stay at one of Matthew’s properties and our experience was as we have come to expect. His properties are comfortably furnished, clean, and consistent with their descriptions. We have never needed assistance as there have never been issues with check in or maintenance, but I have no doubt it would be handled quickly and efficiently. When I come home to visit my central IL hometown, I always look for a listing of Mathew’s to use during my stay. '

'I picked this place because of decent reviews... Not sure if I got unlucky with my room, but it was bad. I walked in and saw that it wasn't the room I booked (no king bed), and that it was unkept and generally not very clean. I booked another room at a different hotel and never looked back. Didn't stay here, and wasn't offered a refund (in fairness it was a non-refundable booking, but under the circumstances I think a refund would have been fair). '

'Let me start by saying that this property has plenty of space. My 17 year old and I stayed on the main floor and had plenty of space. We’ve been looking at universities and I was thinking we’d like to relax with more space and get some laundry done by this point in our travels. Granted, we got there just after sunset but I wasn’t doing laundry in that basement with side rooms and light fixtures with no bulbs. 'DIRTY and MICE. Second time staying here. First time was dirty but manageable. This time we could not find another place open so decided to stay here thinking it could not be worse. WRONG. Floors were filthy. Walked around in my bare feet and they were black on the bottoms. We had to wear shoes the rest of time in the house. No supplies to clean ourselves. Opened up drawer in kitchen and found mouse droppings and towels shredded by mice. Other drawers had mouse droppings. Next day opened another...
