'This is a lovely country hotel, i stayed last weeknin a garden room. This week I chose a room in the Hotel itself which was great unfortunately the staff went home and left music playing in the Restaurant down below and this kept me awake ! The Management compensated me in the morning for the inconvenience which was good of them. The food was excellent and the ambience was great so I will definitely stay again .'

'Great selection for breakfast and very tasty. Comfy bed. It was market day (Wednesday) so traffic was really busy, we was having trouble finding somewhere to park, I telephoned the hotel and asked if it was okay to park early, they said yes and also I asked if we could park beyond our checkout time and they said yes. So stress free excellent service and experience 👍'

'Great hotel in nice manor. The house itself is very well preserved notwithstanding the modern extensions and the modernisation of the interior. Great space rooms and good facilities like a pleasant swinging pool. We did eat in York before our arrival but the restaurant seems good, the breakfast there was excellent. 'They change my room for me on arrival as i preferred a balcony. The room was lovely. The food in the restaurant was excellent and huge portions and the staff were friendly. All in all a great stay . Fountains Abbey was 10 minutes down the road.'

'We had a really good stay. The cottage is beautiful and equipped with absolutely everything you could ever need. Our son really enjoyed the garden, in particular the Wendy House which was also kitted out with toys, which was a lovely bonus. The village is peaceful but perfect for a nice walk. We would thoroughly recommend the property and would stay again. '

'Well what can I say a little Gem, I was passing through from Glasgow and needed a stop over so booked this fantastic B+B. Mandy and Jen were just so nice and welcoming and nothing was to much for them. My room was lovely and the attention to detail in the room was very pleasing. If you are looking for a peaceful, tranquil stop in Yorkshire with amazing views and a picture postcard place then this is the one for you. Oh and if this was not enough the dinner and Breakfast was also 10 out of 10.. I...

'Our first stay here with friends , but won’t be our last Will return with our pooch as also dog friendly. Very helpful and friendly Staff , rooms clean and comfortable, evening meal and breakfast both excellent. Great location for visiting various parts of north Yorkshire . '

'The room were clean, comfortable and well appointed with tea and coffee facilities. Bathroom was spotless with shower gel and shampoo provided and extra large fluffy bath sheets. A little warm due to excessive summer temperatures, however fans and air conditioning units were provided. Fresh milk and cold drinking water and ice was available at the bar which was a nice touch. We didn’t end up eating in the restaurant due to complicated dietary requirements, however everything looked delicious....
