Arrived at 23:30 at hotel to find out that hotel was overbooked. I travel a lot and understand that this can happen but there is an opportunity in how you solve this as a hotel. All went wrong. Nothing was prepared, hotel did have my mobile number and could have informed me about the situation and direct me to alternative hotel, no instead they let me arrive first and then direct me to another hotel 20 minutes drive away. No apologies, no upfront compensation offered, they expected me to pay the same rate I booked at Ramada. I did not agree and finally nightmanager offered 50% disc.and would arrange this. Next morning upon checkout at the new hotel nothing was arranged so I had to call Ramada again to confirm the disc.
It is not about the discount, it is about how an overbooking was handled, clearly no management instructions or guidelines how to act in such a situation!
Never again!
