Enjoyed out 3D2N stay at Mangala. The resort manager granted us a discount to upgrade to the Vana pool villa which was available at that time. Great villa to stay in. Very quiet and private, and enjoyed the pool and outdoor shower the most. Staff at the resort were attentive and helpful at all times. Overall a very positive experience.

We had really high expectations when we booked our anniversary stay in this so called 5 star hotel looking at the reviews that it had as well as the price we had to pay. Boy we were so wrong. First of all the outlook when we enter the lobby was really dated, we were greeted warmly though by the staff. The receptionist was also nice. He told us they were having a complimentary tea time just around the pool area between 3-5pm and since at the time we checked in it was 315pm so we decided to try it out before going to our villa. When we arrived there, the girl who was mending the stall was did not really offer us the food and was complaining saying that the beverages stall was not ready, the supervisor then came and also told us to come back later and advise us to freshen up first. So we went to the room to rest and at 415 we decided to go back to the stall and to our surprise the stalls were not there and it was not even 5pm. A 5 star resort would've just sent over the food and beverage to the room if they were about to close as they were not many guests anyway at the time we were there. Then at night, when we were trying to shower there was no hot water, the technician came and informed us to open the faucet and let the water run for 10mins for the hot water to come out, this is not a 5 star facility. When I was lying on the bed to sleep there were few ants on my hands, i just ignored them. At breakfast, we also feel the staffs were lacking, did not smile and was not having a

Stayed in 2 bedroom Amani villa with pool. Had to shorten stay due to CMCO but they were kind enough to help us on dealing with it and food was amazing. But there was a crew who was asking tip for a room service & saying deposit for wine opener is 50rm and reacted like it was a tip from us. We got it back but wasn't very pleased with experience. Except that everything else was enjoyable! Will be back and highly recommended.

Beautiful place with nice scenery. Love the activities provided but wish our room was cleaner. Not totally a fan of having outdoor shower and wake up to see spider in my room.

Hi So sorry to know that the room was not cleaned thoroughly. I will inform our housekeeping colleague to be more conscientious in cleaning. It sounded like you must be in a Vana villa with shower outside the room. The next time you come and visit, stay in a Jala, Amani or even Sara villa, all of them have showers indoor. About the spider in your room, we are so sorry about this, as this is part of the nature. However, our housekeeping or maintenance colleagues could have helped you out then, if you had called the Front Office to let them know. Thank you for your feedback.

Not sure if I have translated it correctly but it seems like you had some challenges with the jacuzzi? There was a printed instruction by the jacuzzi tub to fill the water level to a certain level, then it will work perfectly. However, the instruction is in English. So sorry you had not been able to enjoy the facility, but do call our Front Office if you visit us again, so a maintenance person will be sent to assist.

Beautiful property with noisy fan, terrible food
The environment is absolutely gorgeous! However, something wrong with the way they installed the AC. I couldn't sleep 3 nights much. We have tried three rooms but the noisy air cons were the same. I gave up at the end. It turns on ok at the beginning but the time goes by, the compressor turns on and off all night and it makes metal click sounds as well. We turned off the AC and turn on the fan but fans were also absolutely noisy, too. The property is only 3 years old and I don't understand how all the AC and fans act like old machines. Someone needs to maintain their equipment better. After we checked in, towels were not ready, AC remote control didn't work. We called to change the remote control but nobody came so I had to call again. Staff are friendly and nice but they were not really trained well working in a "5 star" hotel. Food was just scary! I called the restaurant before I got there to let them know I have a special diet, however, they really didn't know what to do. They serve all unhealthy fried food for breakfast. All I could eat was fruits, salad and boiled egg. I would call 5 star property with 3 star service. If you are not specific with your food and you can sleep anywhere, this place will make you happy. If you are specific with your diet and if you are a light sleeper, this is not a place for you. It is a gorgeous place but they don't know how to run a proper 5 star resort. What a shame! Hope someone can improve overall quality so I can visit again

Clean & fresh with back to nature environment. Stayed at Amani Villa. Loved it. Spacious & super comfy. Located near to the hotel lobby which was very convenient. Not much varieties at breakfast buffet but it was ok. Was looking forward to borrow the bicycle but most of the bikes were not properly maintained and I had to give up after 20 mins looking for a good bike.

It is a joyful trip and this is a wonderful getaway for couple to spend 2 3 nights for some relaxing moments. The kitchen could be a bit boring tho so it might disappoint you if you have high expectation on food.

Overall experience was completely atrocious and I got palpitation from the beginning of the event till the end of the event. There were no team work and communication within their own departments and sadly to say, Mangala fail to meet the requirements for the entire event. (we've sent out numerous reminders and the GM of the resort did not react but busy showing interest on my VIPS only) I hosted an event in this resort recently and seems like they wasnt ready for any corporate events and any other event. I hope the owner of this resort able to read this comment, The environment of this resort is REALLY GOOD but the MANAGEMENT is HORRIBLE. Perhaps, Dato should reconsider the staffing especially the top management. If the resort is facing manpower, the GM should be able to delegate or hire more staffs to accommodate the big event like this. Instead of easing the burdens of the client, they are making our stay even worst. I will not recommend and any future business to this resort. I have put this resort under a blacklist UNLESS there are improvement.

First and foremost, allow us to apologize if certain areas of our staff handling of your event might not meet your expectations, however, for what is worth, we think a small amount of appreciation should be extended to the resort team and the management. Our crews may not appeal to you as worthy of an appreciation but we believed during your time at the resort, you would have noticed that we were all at hands throughout the period be it day or night, making sure your VIPs and the rest of the group members' needs were well taken care of. Although much is said about us in your comments, allow us to point out that instructions from your team were very contradicting during the event which added more confusing settings. However, we did not flinched but took it in a stride and managed it well. The resort owner appreciates your comments and we do share his thoughts that your comments might seems constructive, but, nevertheless rather impolite and unappreciative. All aside, we were not expecting that our GM’s tireless efforts to handle your VIPs from the time of check-in until check-out and the attention for all our valuable guests, was mentioned as not commendable. Nevertheless, after all been said, thank you for your comments and though you have blacklisted us, you are still very welcome to our resort and we are sure to be prepared for your arrival.

One of the best stay so far we've had. We booked the Amani Villa with private pool. From hospitality to amenities/top notch facilities, everything was impeccable. Check-in was very quick that even before we finished our complimentary drinks, the Villa is ready! A buggy picked us up and the driver took us around the resort while explaining facilities available. They really pay attention to details, complimentary minibar, individual sized toiletries, chocolates for snacking in the evening. It just felt like home, with added luxury, of course.The staffs are polite, attentive and very helpful. Everyone we met were just so warm and friendly; from the reception to the buggy drivers and breakfast staff. Their service is at top.That includes the Chief of the Resort who greeted and welcomed us at the lobby with fresh Kedondong juice from the resort own harvest. He also made it a point to go round to every guest during breakfast for a chat and to make sure that we were well taken care off. The room was spacious, clean and tidy with a separate living area that opens out to the attached private pool. Ada activities such as cycling, archery, kayaking, boat paddling and more offered as complimentary to resort guests. Kids love it.. Us love it. Will definately come back again!

Family of 4 on a weekend getaway
We had an amazing time at the resort. We stayed at Vana Villa. Room was huge with nice garden view. Attached pool was fun for the family. Breakfast quality was great (unfortunate latte wasn’t served during breakfast). We went for kayaking, paddling boats and archery. Nice activities. Resort was maintained very well. It is in the process of being expanded. Everything was complimentary. Even minibar was complimentary. We are already planning to go there again in a month or so. Two thumbs up from me!!

We were pleasantly surprised with the resort. We didn’t expect much because it is located in the middle of nowhere. However, upon arriving, we were greeted by hospitality guards and staff that already knew our names and car that we were arriving in. They were very well prepared. Everything was very smooth. From buggy service wait to room service, everything was efficient and only a short wait. The resort was beautiful and gave you a Maldives like feeling or some jungle/ desert resort that you only experience overseas or see in the movies. Truly one of the best I have been to in Malaysia. The rooms very very comfortable and well equipped. Although my partner was complaining about the pillows that were too soft. Maybe next time can provide pillow menu. Since this is an all villa resort, Teh room we had and it’s amenities were excellent. I especially liked the private pool, opened shower and bath tub. Food menu was a bit simple. Could work to have a greater food menu selection so that guests wouldn’t need to explore outside food. Kuantan town was about 30 mins away.

This hotel is off the beaten track and gives you the feeling of being in the the 'thick of it'. The hotel has all the luxury you would expect from a 5 star hotel experience but it is relatively new, so it isn't perfect with regard to dining options but the staff will try their hardest to accommodate you. The hotel has lots of things to do - archery, kayaking, free bike rental, nature walks etc. This is all for free and the pool and facilities are spotless.

Improvement
Overall, we were satisfied...only 1 thing to be considered....we were staying at vana villa with pool. The main reason why I chose that kind of villa is because I am wearing fully hijab and I hope to swim in the pool without wearing hijab. Unfortunately, I noticed that the surrounding of the villa was not fully covered by the wall fence, which is still can be seen by others from nearest villa. So, I still need to wear my hijab when i swim in the pool. The rest, superb!!!
