Het hotel ligt prachtig aan het water en dichtbij de bootlijn. De medewerkers zijn vriendelijk. Je kon kiezen bij het complimentary breakfast. Restaurants op loopafstand. We hebben geluncht in het restaurant bij het hotel en dat was prima

Mooi gelegen hotel
Het hotel ligt mooi aan het water, vlakbij de cruiseboten naar 1000 Islands. Het is binnen qua uitstraling gedateerd. Het is onhandig dat er geen lift is waardoor je met je koffers moet sjouwen (hoewel ze wel assistentie aanboden). In de omgeving kan je een leuke wandeling langs het haventje en de rivier maken. Ontevreden zijn we over de gratis leenfietsen die aanwezig zouden zijn zoals op de site staat. Deze waren allemaal kapot gegaan en waren niet meer vervangen. We werden verwezen naar een fietszaak waar we ze konden huren. Er werd geen korting aangeboden.

Aangenaam verrast
1 nacht verblijf op doorreis in het naseizoen. Waren aangenaam verrast. Hadden kamer in hoofdgebouw.Komen zeker terug in de zomer en nemen dan kamer in de tuin met een klein terras.Dat is ook beter als je wat slecht ter been bent daar er geen lift is. Alles zag er zeer verzorgd uit. Prima gegeten ook leuk terras boven bij het restaurant.

I had been there about 4 years ago. This time, the breakfast looked like left overs. I informed them and someone came out with a bowl of scrambled eggs that were burn. The noises in the room sounded as if we were in a summer camp.

Thank you for your feed back, we take all complaints seriously. we have checked with the kitchen staff and the wait staff. this day we had a buffet breakfast, the time that you came you told the wait staff that the eggs were old so she went into the kitchen and had the chef to make you new eggs. to address the noise issue we did have a conference and they were chatting with each other and that if beyond our control

We recently stayed at the Inn for the solar eclipse. It was an excellent stay. The room was beautiful and nicely appointed, lots of space. Complimentary breakfast was great! The location was excellent, perfect view of the water and tucked away ok a quiet street but close enough to walk to everything downtown. We are already looking forward to coming back!

Very clean room with a fireplace, which was nice cozy touch. The lady at the front desk was pleasant and very friendly. Shower could have been a little warmer and breakfast a little bit more substantial but way better than a typical "Holiday Inn" breakfast. Will definitely be back!

Cons - Sadly worn curtains that were broken and unable to be closed to block the bright lights outside, a heater that only blew ice cold air, barely tepid water in the morning. Finally got a gas fireplace to work, only to have the fan squeak and rattle all night long. It did eventually warm up the frigid room though, which came in handy when there was only cool water with which to shower (even after it ran for 10 minutes). In-room coffee was super duper stale, I did eventually find a q-tip in my bag so I could stir in some sugar (still undrinkable). The clock hadn’t been set ahead since the fall time change, so I suspect the coffee had been there for at least that long. Breakfast downstairs was so-so. Eggs were done nicely and served warm, but the bacon was chilled enough that it must only have been pulled out of the walk-in cooler and put under a heat lamp for a mere moment…not long enough to warm it through or melt the congealed grease, though. At checkout I did bring things up and was told that due to safety valves that were installed, the water doesn’t get hot. Even warm would have been nice. Pros - Every single one of the staff were incredibly nice. Very friendly, as helpful as they could be given the circumstances. The room was very clean, the bed was REALLY comfortable. Nice sunrise. In the end, on one of the coldest nights of the year I was more fortunate than many others without the resources to rent a room. That said, next time I’ll keep driving.

I have stayed at the Gananoque Inn and Spa many times on my way to and from family in the States. I have always enjoyed my room and the property. This stay, however, was a completely different experience for me. I was tucked into the annex, which had limited amenities - no fridge or microwave and no access to ice - and a very loud heater that didn't work properly and kept me up for most of the night. I realize it's the off season, but that's no reason to provide guests with a second-class stay. The only positive was an updated bathroom with a decent shower. Based on this experience, the likelihood of me staying at this property again is doubtful. The Gananoque Inn is, clearly, a warm-weather destination.

I'm sorry that you thought your stay was terrible can you elaborate on this. I do know on check out there was four in your room instead of 3 as stated and because you only got three breakfast you shared a breakfast..

Heritage Hotel
Made a reservation through Hotels.com and asked for a room with a lake view. When we arrived at the hotel we were given a room with no lake view and were told that the lake view rooms get those who book directly through the hotel’s website (!) and not through the third party and we still could get a lake view room but needed to pay extra money. We did not want to ruin our stay and decided to pay the extra fee. Later we discovered and were disappointed that we paid much more than if we would book the same room initially through Hotels.com. For any other requests the staff was helpful and friendly. It is convenient that parking and breakfast are included in the pay. Gananoque Inn is a historical hotel and it is a heritage property. I would say that it is one of the gems of Gananoque town. It has a very good location. I really hope that the character, style of this hotel will not be ruined; I hope this heritage property will be preserved today and for future generations, no matter who is or will be a private owner of this hotel.

Great location, easy walk to multiple restaurants and the Thousand Islands Playhouse. It was nice to have a breakfast at the restaurant included in our stay, however the potatoes were under cooked and the toast had way too much butter on it. The staff were extremely friendly, I think they were just really busy the weekend we stayed. I would stay here again.

It was the Canadian Thanksgiving weekend, and all banks were closed.The staff was very helpful. They exchanged some of our US currency to Canadien dollars. The best thing about this hotel is its location. It is withing walking distance to most places of interest in Gananoque.

I get that is is an old building. So the stairs are a bit off. The carpet isn’t the newest. But I give five stars for the bathrooms. They are great. I finally had a shower where the shower head is above me. At 6’4 that is a great feat.

My husband and I stayed at this hotel for 3 nights. At first when we drove up to the hotel, it did have character but wasn’t sure how the inside looked. We were pleasantly surprised, they are renovating the inside which included the lobby ( which was beautiful) the bedroom, washrooms etc. The receptionist was very friendly as was the wait staff. We had our friend meet us there on our last night and were equally impressed as we were. We would definitely stay there again in the future.

Stay here.
I couldn’t recommend this hotel highly enough. It’s slightly dated - but that’s part of its charm. Modern-dated. The staff was friendly and helpful. The location is amazing. 6-8 minute walk to the main street. View of the water from the patio and from most of the rooms.
