Oak Square of Gatlinburg ligt in het centrum van Gatlinburg, op een steenworp afstand van de Aerial Tramway van Ober Gatlinburg. Great Unit

My wife and I have stayed at Oak Square Condos many times in numerous different units. This may likely be one of our favorites. The unit was clean. It did not have a lot of clutter where folks try to over decorate. We arrived about 8:30 pm on our check in day. Once we were settled in, the room was just simple relaxing. Just what the Dr. ordered! Our ONLY concern was the bed mattress was too “squishy” for our taste. Great location. Great room. Highly recommend this unit.

Great experience

Very good condo in a good location. Clean and neat and bed slept really, not too soft. Only thing was fireplace in picture but doesn't say it's wood only. We were expecting gas logs and no wood was provided so no fireplace, That's not a major game changer and everything else was very good. We would recommend this condo.

Pros do not outweigh cons

The condo was updated and with a fully stocked kitchen and very comfortable beds. It was close to EVERYTHING we wanted to do in downtown gatlinburg. but those were literally the only pros to this place. It was NASTY. I have a crawling baby and within 5 minutes of being inside his hands and knees were BLACK. there was no broom or mop for guests to use so we ended up scrubbing the floor with lysol wipes we brought from home but the grime had been there long enough that didn't do much so our baby's knees just stayed black basically the whole time. There were black hairs all over the floor and in the bathtub. The bathtub did not drain properly. The sliding door to the balcony was a pain to open and close. Not having usable cleaning supplies was a first for us, day to day mess clean up were almost impossible. We like the condo amenities and location but until they get a better cleaning service we will not be back to oak square.

Small condo, perfect for overnights

The only issues we had were not specific to the unit as it was great for our 2 night stay. The issues are with the outdoor pool being dirty... lots of rain during the week, and the "spa" was more like a "foot pool" that was not heated. The condo is just off the end of the strip, but very walkable to all of downtown Gatlinburg.

Great Location!

We loved that the place was off the main drag yet very easy to walk to and access all Gatlinburg offers. The close proximity to Smoky Mountain National Park was wonderful. We were happy with the unit. Disappointed with the outdoor pool. A constant layer of bugs on the surface of stagnant water so we never used it and never saw anyone else in it. Kitchen was well equipped but only had 2 forks, and there were no additional liners for the tiny trash can, which was odd for our 4 night stay.

One small problem in unit #211 Perfect for what we needed. Separate kitchenette, separate living room and balcony topped our wish list for vacation accommodations. Great location on the heart of Gatlinburg, right next to a creek. Priced reasonably. Saw a cockroach drop out of the ceiling fan in the bathroom. Saw two more in the bathroom over the five days we stayed there. One was small. I mentioned it to the guy at the front desk and he assured me that the exterminators come every two weeks. I suggested that maybe the problem was the unit above this unit. Additionally, I remarked that based on my years in the restaurant industry, I've learned that when you see small roaches, they are the young ones and it means you have a serious infestation. His response to everything I said was "the exterminators come every two weeks". Maybe that means they are in the process of getting it under control. Or maybe that means it is so bad in the wole building, that the externinator comes every two weeks.....year round. Notes to owner: 1) the faux memory foam mattress topper was way more effective than a person with a bad back thought it would be.....BUT it's probably time to get a new mattress. Go the whole hog and get a memory foam mattress. It will last a lot longer than a coil/spring mattress. 2) the sliding door onto the balcony requires too much force to get it to move. Probably time for a new one of those too. 3) ditch satellite for cable. The TV goes out during rain storms

Newly remodeled very clean

My only complaint is lack of communication from property manager. This property is managed by Oak Square (but is independently owned, however it's not the owner you communicate with when attempting to rent, unlike some units in this building). I reached out via VRBO listing / link 3 times attempting to gather information on status of the property, attempting to make payment on my reservation (since it indicated a payment / balance was due), asking for information on amenities (since I read reviews that the pool was closed). Never once did I get a reply from the mysterious Kevin that per the office manages this property and several others in a network in Gatlinburg. Since I never got a link to make payment I was concerned something may have been wrong with our reservation. I finally (after calling for 3 days) reached someone in the Oak Square office that was able to answer our questions & inform me that my payment would be collected in the office upon arrival, not via VRBO/HomeAway as the deadline indicated. I will say we have stayed at Oak Square several times over the years and love the location. This unit is very clean and newly updated (I suggest a broom/dustpan for renters to be able to clean up anything they may spill / food crumbs). While I prefer the units in the middle for the view, I would absolutely rent this unit again. Returning renters a heads up the hot tub is permanently closed (filled in w concrete) as the homeowners voted to fill it instead of repair (I imagine the cost was astronomical to repair). The outdoor pool is clean and open (although very cold) and the indoor pool is also clean and open (and only slightly warmer), the term "heated pool" is very misleading, but we did use the indoor pool, as the outdoor pool was too cold to use this week (the outdoor temps were mild & rainy this week). Again we love Oak Square and this unit has been added to my favourites list.
