'The rooms come with the charm of an old building, so you will have improvise a little. But possible disappointment by entering the premises is immediately forgotten after meeting with the owner/hotelmanager and tasting the food he serves. He really cares about people and makes you soon feel at home. Value for price too!'

'Very friendly staff throughout our stay. Large room, very comfortable and nice to have a large fan keeping us cool at night. Only issue was the lack of power sockets in this day and age when tech is king, but we managed. Ate at Milly's on the first evening and breakfast on both days, all very nice. Would recommend, especially as Burghley House Estate is literally at the back of the hotel and Stamford itself is a lovely town.'

'Hotel is modern, well maintained with lovely staff. Rooms are really well kept with beds and pillows that are so comfortable! The best we have had for a long time. Parking is easy, breakfasts are always excellent, with the hot food regularly topped up. Pool area is really clean, helpful staff, and you can order coffee/drinks to be brought to you on the sun beds. A nice touch! Only issue we had was that the air-con was so cold in the evening, it would have been better to be turned down a touch!'

It was a pity that my wifi did not connect to the hotel website to log in and the duty manager did not come further then 'mine does connect perfectly'. However in the end he solved it.'
