Fully renovated in 2022! Enjoy downtown Grand Marais, MN living in this funky 1-bedroom apartment. With a full kitchen, modern furniture, views of Lake Superior, and its location just steps away from the quaint shops of Grand Marais, you'll never want to leave this sweet spot!

We love animals, but we do not currently allow pets in our units.

My stay at the Sweetwater Suite East was amazing! The hosts were easy to get ahold of and answered all my questions really fast! The pictures don't do this place justice. It is absolutely beautiful! You can tell they put a lot of time into decorating and updating the space. It's also in the heart of the town with just about everything a couple minute's walk away! We will definitely be staying here again!

This unit was even better than the pictures! Rooms felt larger than they appear, and the unit seemed very recently renovated - it smelled of fresh cut wood in a welcoming and clean way. We will definitely stay here again, but in case it matters to others, the bed is not terribly comfortable. If you are sharing it with someone, you will feel every movement (like sleeping on a noisy trampoline). The walls are thin too, so that you’ll hear anyone in the other unit. That said, the location is fantastic and the host very responsive!

First family visit to Grand Marais

This was the first time we took our kids to the area and knew we wanted to be close to the lake. Not only was the location perfect (lake, restaurants, shops), but this property also offered our family comfort and relaxation. Have a full kitchen, separate bedroom, and living area was perfect for us. Our kids adored Drury Books, Letteracy activities, and walking to the lighthouse. We can’t wait for our return next summer!

We came after the summer season ended. The apartment is in a great location, with easy walks to shops and restaurants. Lots of good sightseeing in the area. All the comforts of home while on the road! Great place.

Best Location in Grand Marais

Why? You can easily walk to anywhere in town--harbor, restaurants, shops, grocery. Note that the unit is on the second floor above a boutique and that was not an issue for us. Unit is nicely updated, very clean and comfortable, and has a full kitchen. You do have peeks of Lake Superior out the windows, but if you're looking for a balcony with full lakeview you'll need to look elsewhere. When we wanted that, we just strolled over to the Gunflint Tavern for beverages and the view! And did I mention that Worlds' Best Donuts is only two doors down...yum! Recommended.
