'Ok but do NOT book in the summer!! Only one room has air con and the heated towel rail can not be turned off! Even with the fuse removed (owner advised we remove). This made the bathroom ridiculous hot which filtered through to the room. Room wasn’t the cleanest, stains up the walls from coffee (I hope) Aircon in all rooms would make it much more comfortable and the rest could be overlooked. Staff were fantastic though.'

'While close to town center getting there requires a walk up a very steep hill--not suitable for old people. The hotel was helpful in terminating our stay after one day. A well placed hotel for younger people requiring a basic hotel. Breafast was good. Evening menu should be avoided.'

'Kleine kamer met basis faciliteiten uitgerust. Badkamer was niet goed schoon, maar dit werd na constatering snel door het personeel hersteld. Ontbijtmogelijkheid bij de accommodatie is handig. '

'Delusions of grandeur. A very small room with barely enough room to open a suitcase, slightly shabby decor. So many cushions on the bed that when you removed them they took up most of the available floor space! Bathroom ok but nowhere to put toiletries. Dinner ok, but nothing special. It was all “ok” but disappointing compared to the hype on the website.'

'Long wait at check in. Airco downstairs, but room hot and no airco. Check out time 11.00. But at 10.30 they said we had 10 minutes. Airco unit of downstairs next to room window…. Unbelievable. A lot of noise. Awfull service of front desk. Mostly not occupied and you have to call an outside number with your cell. Best hotel of Colchester. What a Joke. '

'Hotel ligt langs de snelweg maar we hoorden daar op de kamer niets van. Genoeg parkeerplaatsen schijnwerpers. Parkeren is gratis als je member wordt, dat membership is ook gratis. De kamer was goed, het bed een beetje smal. De badkamer ruim genoeg en netjes. Kortom een goede keus als je op doorreis bent. Het ontbijt zit bij de prijs inbegrepen en was beperkt qua keus. '
