'We only stayed for one night so didn’t bother to ask for an upgrade, but I think you should. We stayed in a not yet renovated room and it was definitely not worth the money. It felt more like a run down youth hostel than a 3 star hotel. Bar and restaurant area are updated and that looks promising for the rest of hotel. Would only return if I knew rooms are renovated.'

'Well located hotel for golf at Silloth. The properties decor is a bit tired and in need of some maintenance. The days we stayed there was only one young member of staff on and she had to look after arrivals, bar work and serving of food. Naturally it was a very slow and frustrating evening for customers as she was run off her feet. How she kept a smiling face I do not know. Some of us even asked if we could help her serve behind the bar to relieve the backlog. She politely refused our offers as...

'Very nice staff. Straight forward public house atmosphere. Beer tasting and band playing downstairs well into the evening, but not a significant issue. Nice breakfast and really beautiful surroundings.'

'The 3 course meal was al a carte status, excellent made by chef/ owner. Lovely bedrooms and v clean and owners very welcoming. Lovely views and walks nearby. For children the wildlife park is worth a visit nearby. '
