Message from Chris Cook: Michael, I was doing the review of the property and didn't realize there was only one question. I tried to repost my thoughts, but don't think they went through. Below is what I have tried to post: “Michael, the host, was incredibly responsive to any questions I had leading up to the trip and gave me a great sense of calm when travel to another country is so challenging. The concierge, Sherma was great and communicated well, and set us up on some fun adventures when we wanted. I recommend a day on the catamaran down to the Pitons. That was an amazing day. The house staff, Katherine and Dorit were amazing. Great breakfasts provided every morning and just such warm and wonderful people. We spent at least half our time just chilling at the villa and did other partial day outings on the other days. For dinners, you have to have Chef Didier cook for you. We had him twice, and those were our best meals; Simply fantastic. Food overall on the island was of much higher quality than I expected. All in all, a wonderful trip and my thanks to the host and staff for making such great memories for me and my family.”

We really do go above and beyond to achieve the ultimate vacation experience at Morne Trulah-- for our own family when we are in residence during the months of April and August, and for our guests when we are off-island educating our children in London. It is reassuring to know that the highest standards are maintained during our absence and that everything is working as it should. One's experience of the feelings of peace, beauty and harmony at Morne Trulah are the essence of the pleasure experienced there. So when our guests tell us of the their happiness and vivid memories, we ourselves also can be confident that all will be well and in good order for our own residence. We are indeed very fortunate to have a wonderful team of people working with us to make Morne Trulah superb. The love one gives is the love one receives in return. Hi Randy, thanks so much for your feedback. We are glad that you enjoyed the fantastic views, food and service! We go to great lengths to ensure the comfort of our guests. Unfortunately you visited St Lucia during an unusually cool period. We do not know of any villas with heated pools on the island. We have however ordered more pool furniture as we recognize that there is currently only room for four persons to lounge directly by the pool. We provide a local mobile phone for our guests. Normally our chef calls on this phone when he arrives instead to enter the grounds instead of honking. We will discuss this with him to ensure that future guests are not disturbed in this manner. It is indeed a 500 foot walk from our home to the beach. Many of our guests drive their rental cars to the beach. However there is a taxi rank nearby at the Windjammer Resort where there are always lots of taxis a few minutes away. We will endeavor to provide the phone number of the Windjammer taxi rank to future guests who prefer not to walk. Thanks again for your feedback!

Thank you for your feedback which we are grateful to have received. The house, staff and grounds are beyond compare. Lovely; idyllic; awesome. I note with interest your experience with 'the mosquitos'; we are so very diligent with mosquito control, and we do not wish anyone to judge us unfairly. We think, perhaps, that you may have encountered a bout of sand flies-- those horrible little invisible pests that come from anywhere at anytime in the Tropics following a couple days of rain. The house and bedrooms are fitted with micro- mesh to prevent infiltration by those tiny sandflies, if they happen to be on-the-wind. We also have a centralised outdoor perimeter insect spraying system that can be instantly activated to fog the house and grounds if needed. If we were made aware of a problem we would have been able and ready to solve it very quickly. But, you did rent the house for complete privacy and required that no maintenance staff be on-site to perform daily maintenance which included the daily prophylactic spraying and 24-hour instant response butler service. We regret that we were not notified of any mosquito sightings during your residence because we could have solved it instantly! I personally have found that whether at Morne Trulah or anywhere in the Caribbean, one must always be diligent to regularly apply some insect repellant and sleep under a well-tucked mosquito net- just in case. At Morne Trulah there are so few pests because of the near constant, gentle trade winds blowing through the house that it can be very easy for one to become complacent by not applying repellent for lack of any previous problems with flying biting insects. Morne Trulah is mosquito-free on demand.
