The hotel is situated in Habarana which is near to all the cultural locations. The lodges are rather dark and midscale, not what you expect from a 4+ star rated hotel. The staf is friendly but not that fast in the restaurant. Not too many alternatives nearby.

Mooi hotel, vriendelijk en service gericht
Mooi hotel in een mooie omgeving. Veel natuur en rust. Personeel is zeer vriendelijk en service gericht. Ontbijt en diner was goed. Miste wel een gym en de badkamer zou beter onderhouden moeten worden.

Totale vakantiebeleving
Cinnamon Lodge was ons eerste echte hotel in Sri Lanka en wisten wij veel dat dit niet de standaard is in dit prachtige land. Wat een fantastische locatie zo midden tussen alle bezienswaardigheden en in een mooi stuk van het land. Het hotel heeft een statige entree. Het doet koloniaal aan, zeker omdat je bij aankomst in de entree (buiten) ontvangen wordt door zeer vriendelijk personeel die je een verkoelend drankje aanbieden. Het hotel bestaat uit een zeer doordacht en idyllisch tuinlandschap van architectonisch fraaie cabins. Er is een mooie eetzaal met heerlijk (ontbijt)buffet. Ze hebben er echt alles, van Sri Lankaanse hapjes die ter plekke door koks worden klaargemaakt tot pannekoeken, yoghurt. Noem maar op!. Dat je hier echt in de jungle zit merk je aan de fauna die er rondscharrelt. Apen (niet altijd even vriendelijk), bijzondere eekhoorns, varaan. Noem maar op. En het zwembad is ook echt heerlijk. Zeker een aanrader, want we kwamen er gaandeweg ons verblijf op het eiland achter dat dit hotel op eenzame hoogte staat wat hygiene, verzorging en uitstraling betreft. En we zaten niet in de goedkope hotels, dat kan ik u wel vermelden.

Very friendly staff across the board. Great location to reach day trips to Sigiriya, Pollonaruwa, Anuradhapura, Dambulla, and safari/hiking, etc. and unwind/relax at the pool/spa. Lakefront is great for reading or for a morning jog. Rooms/facilities are new and well maintained. Staff goes over and beyond to make your stay comfortable.

The property is old, the monkeys and stray dogs is an issue. The food was a huge selection, the desserts looked nice, but only few items are great. The Shisha/ Hookah was too old and the bar staff did not know how to operate the shisha/ hookah for that price. They only placed one coal. There are snakes.

Our experience at Cinnamon Lodge was excellent. The staff in particular was very attentive as they always made sure we were well taken care of. Room facilities were great as well. Breakfast and dinner buffet spreads were amazing with tons of flavour made and our tastebuds happy.

Service, food, and location!
This lodge exceeded my expectations. Big comfy bed with fluffy pillows, best food in Sri Lanka with local sourced buffet. They called to check on me after settling in, provided umbrellas, and surprised me with an artful safari display. Wish I stayed another few days. Pool and lakeside view lovely. The homemade soursop ice cream was heaven in a cone!

Like staying in a tropical garden
This is a very special hotel. It lies in a huge garden with a string of small lakes running through the grounds. There are lots of monkeys running around and lots of huge birds in the trees. It is quite a long walk from the reception to the (furthest) rooms, so not good if you are disables. There is a very large pool and a very large restaurant. There are also a lot of activities on the grounds. It was a pity that we were only staying from sundown to early morning.

Fabulous hotel - especially for nature lover
Fabulous hotel all round. Beautiful surroundings, especially for the nature lover. Rooms immaculate, lovely pool and gardens and delicious food. Service friendly but maybe too attentive at times. Was a return visit for us and did not disappoint. Highly recomended.

Cet hotel pourtant ancien a conservé tout son charme dans un grand parc. L’équipe est efficace et souriante. La cuisine est délicieuse et la situation au centre des sites historiques parfaite. Evitez les chambres trop pres du bar (musique). Superbe piscine tres propre et bienvenue !

What a place!
Hotel is beautiful and staff is so nice. I have been to this place 25+ years ago and the place is still so beautiful. Reminds me of how Sigiriya was back I the days. Villas and blended into the garden and so peaceful. Staff is so warm and welcoming! Definitely coming back!

We keep going to this little gem of a place. Cinnamon Lodge has never disappointed us, the cuisine is excellent, spotless rooms in peaceful surroundings. Very helpful and courteous staff. When we booked, we had an offer of a free safari and late checkout but the hotel wasn't aware of this. Please make sure your offers are known to the hotel, so that the guests are not disappointed. We highly recommend this fabulous hotel, closer to Sigiriya rock, Polonnaruwa, Minneriya nature reserve etc. We look forward to be there again, in the near future. P.s. COVID regulations are well managed and every precaution is taken to keep the guests safe at this hotel.

The guy cleaning our rooms couldn’t do more he was very friendly and knowledgeable of the local area . He had been working at the hotel for 37 years what an asset to the hotel.

Tolles Hotel inmitten eines Naturschutzgebietes
Ein schönes Hotel, gut gelegen, das Buffet einfach nur fantastisch, Mitarbeiter sehr freundlich, es werden Elefanten Safaris angeboten - dieses Hotel kann man auf jeden Fall unbedingt empfehlen.

Lovely relaxing location with plenty of room for nature walks. Staff very helpful and food is a delight. Lovely pool. It is our favourite hotel break in Sri Lanka.

Top class hotel that is balanced in its natural surroundings. Rooms were large and modern. food was buffet style but plenty of variety and good quality. Very large swimming pool but limited on sun loungers and sunbathing space! But to be honest this didn’t bother me because I was there to use the hotel as abase so I could explore the surrounding area

Really lovely hotel with big, nice rooms and excellent food. I highly recommend getting breakfast and dinner included. The food was very good and the options changed slightly every day. Our room was nice but the bathroom was really smelly. We organized one taxi via the hotel and realized how much they were marking up. Easy and way more reasonable to organize transport on your own. Pool area is really nice but unfortunately rained everyday we were there. Overall, great base for the Cultural Triangle.

This is a beautiful hotel, quiet, friendly and romantically modern. The staff are amazing, so kind and attentive. Rooms are beautiful, spacious and clean. Food is magnificent! A huge variety and delicious. Would 100% love to come and stay here again. Best overall hotel I’ve ever stayed in! Thank you cinnamon lodge for taking such good care of us :)
