'A hotel at a great location on the golf court, with a fantastic restaurant. Unfortunately the state of the building is not as nice as the picture shows, and the windows are desperately requiring maintenance. Service was OK, but I was given 2 single beds instead of a double bed, and they neglected to inform me that Wifi was free of charge. A lot of apologies, but not really what I expected for the price paid. Still an interesting experience and the restaurant made up for it.'

'The stay at the hotel was amazing, the room was very nice and smart along with a huge, modern bathroom. We visited in the middle of the week, so it was very quiet. 'Highly recommend to stay at Cromwell’s Tap House. It’s located in the heart of Shrewsbury, at walking distance of pretty much everything in town. Only 7 minutes from the train station. The rooms were located on the first floor above the pub. We heard no noise whatsoever, and only in the morning we heard some cars go by, but it was of no nuisance to us. 'The hotel's location was beautiful due to the backdrop of the trees and hills and on the river Severn. Internally the hotel is very traditional with old features, fixtures and fittings. Single glazed windows led to it being cold in some areas, especially our room and creaking floors. Meals and beers were good and staff very helpful and polite. We wouldn't stay again but that's not a reflection on the hotel, it is just us wanting to stay in other hotels in different locations. Fully recommend...
