  • Located on Grafton Street next to the popular "Pizza Corner" you will be in heart of downtown Halifax nightlife, just steps from all major restaurants, bars, and tourist sites! Take a stroll to the Halifax Waterfront or catch a Mooseheads game or other event at the Scotiabank Centre. No need to worry about driving, this location is a walker's paradise! You can do most of your exploring on foot or by UBER. While we do not offer onsite parking, there are lots of paid options in the immediate vicinity of the building. Pizza Corner is famous for it's night life and "after the bar" pizza, you will expect to hear some after hours noise from the downtown streets on weekends which is beyond our control, if you are sensitive to sound we suggest using white noise, ear plugs or stay in a more quiet area of Halifax.

This had everything we needed. It is small but perfect for two people. The location is really good for lots of food options and easy access to the harbour front. It is noisy at night - a noisy corner because it’s so busy.

Amazing location and you truly can’t beat it for the price! Everything was within walking distance, and we found a parkade about a block away that was affordable and felt like a safe bet to leave the car for a few days. The place is a bit dated, but it did the job for our stay. There was a constant smell of burgers and incense from the businesses below, which took some getting used to. It could get quite loud late at night due to being right above the late night food spots. The AC unit in the room helped drown out some of the noise. Staff from the store were around fairly often, which could make using the hallway bathroom a little awkward, but everyone was very kind. There also wasn’t a blow dryer available in the bathroom, so just something to keep in mind if you’re staying here. Overall, you get what you pay for, it’s a great location for the price. We would stay here again!

The washroom in not located in your living area. It is down the hall and there are people working in the rooms attached to the hallway. Made going to the washroom a little uncomfortable but everyone in general seemed extremely nice. The smell from the burger place below pierce's the soul of your nostrils at night. The noise on Fridays and Saturdays can be overwhelming but the stand up air conditioner somewhat drowns it out. There is a strong smell of urine when you enter the downstairs front entrance. Very obvious the front entrance doorway is used as a washroom throughout the night. Lots of unhoused people hang out at the end of the street at the abandoned Library. If you need a cheap place with a great location to the waterfront and don't mind hostels than this would probably be your place.

Was as advertised and good for the solo traveller . Took a bit to get used to the staff of black market coming up to the storage rooms but this was only during the day and was quiet at night . Yes for sure is loud at night as it’s the spot to go for after bar food but the portable air conditioner in the bedroom drowned that out. Was super hot in Halifax so the apartment was warm during the day but bedroom was fine at night with AC going. Amazing location a coulple of blocks from the waterfront and within stumbling distance from popular local pubs. . I would stay again but not for everyone . The price was unbeatable compared to hotels around there so it’s worth giving this a try . Would book again .

The apartment itself was clean. It is a great location. Furniture is not the same as the pictures. There is an air conditioner, however, it does not cool down the area at all as it wants you to dump the water into it every hour. It was colder on the street in a heat warning than the apartment. We had NO wifi even though it was listed in the add. I contacted the host twice without any contact back from them. The information listed for the wifi is not correct which comes up when in the location. The bathroom is located outside of the apartment which isnt ideal, and there is a lot more movement in and out of the hallway than listed.

The location was great walking wise to everything but extremely loud until about 4am. They blast music across the street on outdoor speakers which makes it really hard to sleep. The shower curtain was all full of mildew so the first day we had to walk to get a new one. The towels had seen better days and I found a pair of glue on eyelashes on mine 😳 The living room is extremely small but if the bed could fit there it would be a lot better for sleeping as the noise in the actual bedroom is so loud. The bathroom being in the hallway was fine other then there were constant people upstairs in the two storage rooms, it wasn’t every once in awhile as listed. I would only recommend this place if you don’t mind loud music all night and a lack of privacy using the bathroom.

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay here. The apartment was clean,comfortable, and cozy. I came to Halifax to attend a concert at the Scotiabank Centre. It couldn't have been more conveniently located. It was literally, just a short walk away. In fact, I was able to go just about everywhere I wanted to on foot. For longer trips, Uber is easily available. Plenty of restaurants nearby. I especially liked the Wooden Monkey. Because of being located in the heart of downtown Halifax, I expected some street noise. Many of the restaurants are open very late. But I had brought along my sound machine to block out any noises, and was able to sleep soundly. This is a lovely heritage property, that has been updated somewhat. But not Too much. I was not looking for a cookie-cutter "box"type of place to stay.You can find that Anywhere. It has more of a boho, artsy vibe. I just loved the way it was decorated. So much so, that I bought a boho wool throw identical to the one in the apartment, from the very popular Black Market Boutique located on the first floor of the building! Now I will always have something to remember my stay there, whenever I use it. This apartment is ideal for someone traveling alone as I was, or for a couple. Maybe a bit small for families.The bathroom is located in the hallway, out side of the apartment itself.This should not be an issue though, as you will have the whole floor to yourselves. If I'm ever in Halifax in the future, I'd ABSOLUTELY stay here again!

This tiny apartment is location is really central and the price was also very good. The apartment is old and rustic but clean. Only thing we encountered was some things under the bed which was not a big deal.I think it is important to know that just as the description says, it is in the main party area and not only during the weekend but every night there was people in the streets partying, screaming and fighting until 4:30 AM. It didn’t really bother us. What did bother us was the constant smell of Rosie’s Burgers that is directly below the apartment. The exhaust from the restaurant fills the apartment from 10:00 am when you hear them turn on the exhaust until 3am or 4am when they shut them off. There is no air conditioning or fans so having the windows open to get some air into a hot apartment makes it worse. Our clothes and hair smell like burgers and I was sick to my stomach by the end of our 5 night stay. There are air filter machines by the windows to help but it is just too much to really do anything.My other issue was the lack of communication. I tried to contact the owner 2 months before we arrived, the day we arrived and 2 days before we left and never got a response.
