'Noisy in the very early hours of the morning. People snoring in the other rooms or even moving in the bed was disturbing and squeaky. Was only using it for a very few hours to sleep but it didn't serve the purpose. The landlady is very nice but being nice doesn't mean you get what you need as a basic place to rest'

'Clean single room for an overnight stay, the hotel is literally opposite the railway station and Piece Hall and town centre are a short walk away. Staff friendly and helpful. Some of the fixtures and fittings could do with some tic perhaps, but the rates are very reasonable and the bed was comfortable. Some rooms face a busy road so some traffic noise, but not too bad. Would stay again.'

'Moved from the bull to the shepherds rest as an upgrade prior to arrival. Out of 4 rooms (party of 4), rooms 10 and room 4 no heating. The bull may have better but I’d avoid the shepherds rest. Also none of the TVs worked in any of the 4 rooms and Wi-Fi password not shared. A shame as the rooms were fine even if the showers are a little small. Place was clean and obviously has been invested in. '
