The Space:

Country Cabin is a modern black-and-cedar retreat purpose-built for two, set on a working farm in peaceful Hamurana on the northern shore of Lake Rotorua. Inside it's one bright, open space; outside, a private timber deck looks over green paddocks where the resident pigs, calf and goat graze just beyond the fence. It's all birdsong, clean country air and slow mornings with a coffee.

- BEDROOMS -

One open-plan studio cabin with a comfortable queen bed. Sleeps 2. All bedding and linen supplied.



- BATHROOMS -

A modern bathroom with a curved glass shower and rain head, white vanity and round mirror.



- LIVING AREA -

A single bright, open space with a queen bed to one side and a two-seater leather sofa and flat-screen TV to the other. Large sliding glass doors open straight onto the deck, with herringbone timber floors and a heat pump throughout.



- KITCHEN -

A fully self-contained kitchenette with a two-burner ceramic cooktop, single sink, mini fridge and microwave, plus the cookware, crockery and cutlery you'd want for a few days of cooking in.



- OUTDOOR AREA & FARM -

A private timber deck with cast-iron bistro chairs and a bench - made for slow mornings and paddock views. The cabin sits in a gravel courtyard with native plantings and classic black post-and-rail fencing. Beyond the fence, rolling pasture climbs the hill and the farm animals roam - you're welcome to walk the boundary, say hello and enjoy genuine New Zealand farm life from a respectful distance.



- PARKING -

Off-street parking on the gravel drive directly in front of the cabin, just a couple of metres from the door.



Guest Access:

You have the whole cabin and the private timber deck to yourselves, with off-street parking right at the door. You're welcome to walk the farm boundary and meet the animals from a respectful distance.



The Neighborhood:

Hamurana is a quiet farming village on the northern shore of Lake Rotorua - one of the most peaceful corners of the region, all rolling green hills, grazing stock and clean country air. The Hamurana Springs Recreation Reserve is just up the road (around 10 minutes), home to one of New Zealand's largest natural springs, a grove of towering California redwoods and gentle walking tracks, and the lake shoreline is close by for views, summer swims and quiet sunsets. Ngongotaha village is about 10 minutes south with a grocery store, cafes and takeaways, and the much-loved Okere Falls Store, with its craft beer garden, is a short drive the other way.



Getting Around:

A car makes the most of the area, with off-street parking on site. Skyline's gondola and luge, Canopy Tours and Zorb are around 10 minutes away, the lakefront hot pools at Polynesian Spa and Wai Ariki Spa and Te Puia's geysers about 20, and the Redwoods Whakarewarewa Forest and Rotorua Airport roughly 25. Rotorua's city centre and Eat Streat are around 15-18 minutes south. Hobbiton is about an hour's drive, and the beaches of Tauranga and Mount Maunganui around 50 minutes.



Other Things to Note:

WIFI runs at around 250 Mbps. This is a genuine working farm - the resident animals (Kunekune pigs, a calf and a goat) live just beyond the fence, and you're welcome to walk the boundary and say hello from a respectful distance. The kitchenette is set up for simple, self-contained cooking rather than large-scale catering.
