"Puanani", Hawaiiaans voor prachtige bloemen, is een familiehuis in Hawaiiaanse stijl gelegen aan het einde van een rustige doodlopende straat op loopafstand van de baai van Hanalei en de stad. Een grote tuin met plumeria, hibiscus, 's nachts bloeiende jasmijn en een weelderige tuin met melodieuze zangvogels kunnen worden genoten vanaf de voor en achter overdekte veranda. Versierd met rieten en bamboe meubels en ontworpen met open balkenplafonds en natuurlijke cederwanden, heeft het huis een ruim, comfortabel gevoel.

Het sikkelstrand van Hanalei Bay ligt op korte loopafstand om te zonnebaden, strandkammen, seizoensgebonden zwemmen en spectaculaire zonsondergangen. Maak een wandeling over het strand naar de historische Hanalei-pier om te genieten van een prachtig uitzicht op de omliggende bergen en watervallen.

Nog een korte wandeling brengt u naar het schilderachtige stadje Hanalei, waar tal van winkels en restaurants zijn gevestigd, evenals een markt en een postkantoor. Proef tijdens het verkennen van deze historische stad lokale favorieten, geschoren ijs en smoothies.

1973 Beach Cottage Time Capsule

This property ended up becoming our home for 4 days and not just a place to sleep and plop our stuff into. The location can not be understated, the beach was 5 minutes in one direction and town was 5 minutes in the other. All you need and more is within walking distance. The property was incredibly clean and every drawer had exactly what you needed. There were plenty of towels provided and a larger main bathroom than I expected. There were also unexpected beach chairs, snorkel gear, and a beach umbrella provided in the laundry space. There was an overall sense of love and care to the space that was palpable. We can’t wait to come back. I can’t leave a review without mentioning that if you are needing a/c or a dishwasher they won’t be found here. This place is a true beach cottage from another time but that isn’t a downgrade.

Great place

Terrific location - just a short, 5-minute walk to the middle of Hanalei Bay beach.Very nice place, with much more character than a condo.Only problem was a rooster who started crowing before midnight and kept it up off and on for the rest of the night. I asked my son to get out of bed, go find it, and make us some rooster fricassee. But he wouldn't.This happened only one night out of 5. No idea why.

Perfect Hanalei Getaway

If you are looking for a simple Hanalei beach getaway you wont do better than Puanani Hale. Perfect location on a quiet cul-du-sac, a short walk from both the stores and the beach.

Wonderful Location to everything!

This rental house is really well maintained. Very clean and well appointed. Lovely wood interior. It had everything we needed. Being able to walk just about everywhere was fantastic. Nice quiet neighborhood that we respected as guests Beautiful foliage on the property with a lovely lanai for morning coffee.

Comfy, low key piece of Paradise

Our family (husband, myself, two boys,16 and 11) had a great stay at this property. Super clean and comfortable. It's a well-lived-in house, meaning no granite countertops or fancy tiles in the bathroom. The outdoor shower is grand and the location is superb. Yes, the roosters are noisy, but they are literally everywhere. So I think you would hear them wherever you stayed in Hanalei. Overall, we enjoyed our stay here and would recommend.

Great Location

Would have given 5 stars, the property deserves it, but the resident rooster crowed the entire night. And the property behind us was under construction the whole week and were very loud (air compressor, nail gun) so it was not a relaxing place during the day. We would have appreciated a heads up on that. The property itself was perfect for us and close to the beach and downtown. It would have been lovely if it were not for all the racket.

Loved it!

Clean house with a 5 minute walk from the beach and from shops & restaurants. Has that 1970s surfer house vibe. Beach chairs, towels, kitchen appliances provided. We loved the outdoor shower. If you haven't been to Hanalei before know that it is gorgeous but is definitely the wet side of the island.

Cozy cottage steps from the heart of Hanalei

Perfect location only a 2 minute walk to the restaurants and shops and 2 minutes to the beach. Cozy cottage had everything we needed(just wish it had surf boards or boogies boards). Comfortable bed and the outdoor shower was wonderful! We loved being greeted by the geckos every morning. Roosters weren’t a bother at all. We will definitely be back.

Mixed opinion about the property. The good: - central location in Hanalei while being in a very quiet area - in walking distance to beach and town - wonderful outdoor area - clean The not-so-good: - very outdated interior (price-value not balanced) - not well-insulated from outside noise (be prepared to wake up every day by 3 am thanks to the roosters that live outside) - neighbor complaining about noise from watching TV at reasonable volume in a rather rude way. We are seasoned travelers and very respectful towards locals wherever we go but this made us feel unwelcome. On the bright side another neighbor stopped by the next morning and apologized for her.

Lovely Puanani!!

We loved the old school Hawaiian vibe here-quiet neighborhood (except for the roosters which lend a charm until they wake you at 2,3,4,5 am🙀), the house is simple and quiet and a perfect location. We will be back!! One comment-although the couch is cool looking it’s not very comfy. We loved having beach gear available to us. It’s a wonderful hane! Mahalo! 🌸🌺🌸

The house was great! Perfect for a couple or small family. Loved the outside shower, lanai, neighborhood, and location. Nothing fancy, but perfect for experiencing Hanalei - easy walk to restaurants and beach.

The house is fantastic. The neighbor is not.

The house is adorable and cozy. The VRBO description about the neighborhood being quiet is misleading. There is a crazy neighbor who comes over to yell, scream, cuss us out and threaten to call the cops because we were in the living room with our 12 year old watching a movie after 9am. The property management company told us they have more problems with her than any other property on the island. The homeowners and management company need to be a better job disclosing the truth about the neighborhood. The other neighbors were all lovely, just this one person who was bent on taking out her unhappiness on tourists.

One of the overall best properties I’ve ever rented. House was well-kept, we loved the outdoor shower, perfect proximity to all things in Hanalei, 5 minute walk to the beach. We were also able to easily to get the Kalalau trail for some of the best hiking ever. A great place for someone looking for a quiet evening reading and a long day in the sun/hiking/surfing. The town is quaint and shuts down around 8pm. Walls and windows are thin and best to keep noise to a minimum after dark. No problem for us!

A little slice of heaven in Hanalei

We stayed at this charming Hanalei house for 8 days. It was perfect for our family of 4. Easy walk to beach and town. Loved its simple Hawaiian decor-also enjoyed the lanai to hang out on AND outdoor showers. It’s equipped w beach towels and chairs. And the landscaping around the house is quite pretty. I would definitely stay here again.

Great place

The property managers were great, there was a small issue with the washing machine and they provided a workaround until it could be fixed. The house itself was very nice and we really enjoyed it. There's very little air conditioning and Hanalei and if you happen to go when it's hot be prepared to just enjoy the breeze and the indoor fans. The house is located very close to Hanalei Bay which was great for swimming when we were there in mid-september, is also very close to Hanalei town which has some great restaurants and shops.

Amazing.

The house was a pefect location for us, a family with two teenagers. Wifi worked perfect. We loved the outdoor shower and the terrace with the great barbecue. We did not miss the aircondition, it worked well with the fans and the open windows. Well- equipt and clean, with lots of towels. We loved the view in the garden, flowers, mountains... Hanalei house to match setting

The house was perfect for casual comfort in beautiful Hanalei...short walk to beach in one direction and town in the other...quiet cul de sac made for a peaceful visit...we spent hours on the front porch watching birds, chickens, chicks, roosters,etc. Really a great stay!
