Waterfront Hideaway op het Tidal Falls halverwege tussen Acadia en Schoodic

Het huis, ligt verscholen tussen de bomen en zitten heel dicht bij de kust zorgt voor privacy en biedt een prachtig uitzicht op de speciale omkeren getij valt - een steeds veranderende landschap te genieten. Een geweldige plek om de hele dag te blijven of terug te komen na Acadian avonturen.
Deze 3 slaapkamers, 2. 5 bad het hele jaar door huis heeft uitzicht vanuit elke kamer. Beneden is een master suite met queen bed en bad. Complete keuken opent naar een eet- en woonkamer. Half bad is beneden. Boven bevinden zich de andere twee slaapkamers - een met queen bed en een eenpersoonsbed, de andere met een volledige futon en een eenpersoonsbed. Deze slaapkamer heeft ook een groot bureau voor het schrijven of andere projecten. Ook op de tweede verdieping is de kathedraal plafond kunstenaar studio, en een complete badkamer. Hardhouten vloeren in de grote studio zorgen voor een geweldige ruimte om te dansen, te creëren, lezen, muziek afspelen of luisteren naar een groot assortiment van klassieke, jazz en rock grammofoonplaten.
Het is een geweldige set-up voor een multi-generatie familie met de oudere generatie beneden en de jongere naar boven ..
De grote dek buiten de begane grond maakt om buiten te eten en gezelligheid alle tijdens het luisteren naar en kijken naar de drukte en steeds veranderende landschap van het getij watervallen. Veel zeezoogdieren en vogels (met inbegrip van adelaars, visarend en Loons) waarnemingen af ​​te wachten.
De wandeling naar de kust heeft paden onder een volwassen, aangelegde tuin. Zit in een Adirondack stoel bij het vuur pit en praktisch op de Falls.
Geniet van de beste van Downeast Maine met uitstapjes naar Mount Desert en Acadia, of Acadia's Schoodic schiereiland. Hancock heeft vele goede restaurants om van te genieten. Ellsworth ligt op slechts 15 minuten afstand om te winkelen.

Great property! Very clean and very well appointed. But for the four of us, the real excellence came from the sitting area and fire pit perched over the water and in clear view of the endlessly fascinating tidal falls.

This house was perfect for my family's trip to Acadia/Bar Harbor. The view of the bay was amazing, so peaceful! Hanging out in the backyard was one of our favorite parts of the whole trip! The kitchen was fully stocked, a convenient store was a few minutes away, and communicating with Lydia was easy.

Relaxing

We greatly enjoyed our stay and the location was great. We loved being right at the Tidal Falls to look for sea creatures, we even found a star fish. There is a seal that would swim right out in front of the house. It was easy to use our kayaks though getting to the water at low tide was a bit tricky, but doable. The house was well equipped and clean though dated. We loved the family room upstairs to unwind with board game or book or movie and the views of the water from all the bedrooms was nice to wake up to. Really lovely and completely relaxing. It took us maybe 25 minutes to get to the Schoodic part of Acadia National Park and 45 to get to the Mt Desert Island part. Ellsworth which was only 15 minutes away had a nice small downtown and there were a number of good antique shops within 30 minutes. Places to eat in Hancock aren't plentiful but they were very good. We enjoyed the Black Sheep and Ironbound.

Perfect Maine Stay

This was the perfect place for our family of 4 (2 teenagers) to stay while visiting Acadia National Park. We had a lovely room and bathroom downstairs, with a lovely view of the reversing falls, and our two teens each had their own room, shared bath upstairs, with a t.v. lounge room. We enjoyed the record player, sitting on the rocks on the backyard, watching the eagles and seals and ALL the birds. We ate breakfast and dinner in every day, and packed lunches. We were able to comfortably visit both Mt. Desert Island as well as Schoodic Peninsula. Wonderful!! We'd definitely stay here again!

We rented this house to see the Fall Foliage and explore Acadia National Park.This house is about 40 minutes away from the park, but the drive is very pretty! The house is spacious and comfortable.The views from every window are incredible. The back yard is beautiful. We wished there had been more another tv, but the record player was such fun! This place is great!

This home was a delight for our family of six, including three teenagers. The views at sunrise and sunset were magnificent, and the record collection was perfect incredible. The location was close enough to Acadia but yet far enough away to feel like a retreat. We truly felt at home.

My family & I had a great stay! The house was more than what we expected. The view from the deck was gorgeous. We sat there every morning enjoying the scenery. The space inside was nice. We went to MDI & Schoodic peninsula and it was an easy drive to both. If we ever go to that part of Maine again, we won't stay tjere.

Tidal falls house

Beautiful location and view. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. Provided for all our needs and more. Loved the vinyl record collection. Beds were very comfortable. Great location in between Schoodic Peninsula and Bar Harbor. We look forward to staying here again in the future.

Perfect family space to explore Acadia NP

Ideal location on water, plenty of space for our family. We explored all 3 sections of Acadia NP and felt the home was a great central spot. Appreciated the suggestions as we cooked our own seafood boil and the kitchen had everything we needed. Loved the records and added to the collection when we departed.

Good and not so good

The view was spectacular!!! The beds where comfortable! When we arrived it was like walking into a fish market. The people before us must of cooked a lot of fish. Heads up if you cook fish set out a bowl of vinegar to absorb the smell. There also was a musty smell I’m sure being in the humid and close to water area that’s difficult to control. The place could definitely use some TLC. Just bring candles to mask smell.

Great Location, Beautiful View

We took a sibling trip to Maine to see the beauty it has to offer. The views are fabulous from the back porch and we spent a lot of time in the evenings out there. Something to note the photo in the listing shows a lot of firewood but that is to heat the home so you will need to buy your own if you want to use the fire pit. There are so many spices , condiments, foil, plastic wrap, bug spray etc it might be a good idea to check in before hitting the grocery store. There were fresh flowers and a bottle of wine which was a very nice touch. We loved the record player and used it quite often. The house has its older charm but could use a little refreshening. Thank you for a nice week.

Great Place to Stay

We really enjoyed our stay in Hancock. The house is beautiful and has everything you need. The setup is perfect for a family; our kids took over the upstairs and my wife and I took the master bedroom on the first floor. Beautiful ocean views and we saw some seals in the harbor.

Relaxing Get Away

My family and I enjoyed watching the water, tidal falls, with the seals and all the water birds. It was so relaxing. I really liked the layout of the house. Two bedrooms with a full bathroom upstairs and then the master with full bathroom downstairs was just what we needed.

Lydia's house has everything you could possibly need for a vacation. Spacious rooms, separate space for older kids, fully equipped kitchen & stunning shoreline property. We enjoyed bonfires, the gorgeous sunsets & the wildlife in the area.

Had a nice relaxing stay. Lydia called to make sure we had everything we needed and provided us with suggestions of what to do in the area. We loved the game room upstairs. It was perfect for the 6 of us. Nicely situated between Schoodic and MDI.

Wish we had longer

I am so lucky that we stumbled upon this house when looking at booking in Maine. Ideally I wanted something mid coast but I am so glad we stayed at Lydia's place. My boys took over the top floor and me and my husband enjoyed the views of the bottom floor and much time outside in the back yard. I loved watching the movement of the high tide and low tide and how it affected the tidal falls area. The kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed to cook basic meals to a full lobster dinner. The beds were comfy and with the windows open there was a nice breeze. The upstairs got warm but with the fans provided in the rooms there was no problem. The AC in the tv room was appreciated. Lydia was easy to communicate with and helped us enjoy our stay. Thank you.

The silence was deafening.

Our first evening we saw seals, otters and ducks. A short drive to Mt Desert Island and Acadia National Park. But don't miss Schoodic Point (part of Acadia) which is only 30 -45 minutes away), truly the quiet part of the Park.
