Wonderful stay in Kahana
Overall we really enjoyed our stay at Mike's place in Kahana. The ocean view was incredible and we thought the condo was even nicer in person than the photos. The condo was well stocked with supplies and very clean. The hotel is in a great location, although there is no direct beach access (you have to walk to the next hotel over so not a huge deal). Overall highly recommend staying here.

property and views were just as listed. everything was perfect until construction started at 5.30 in the morning. not owners fault,repairs needed to be made.just wish i knew prior

Mark, I'm sorry for any noise at 5:30am. No it was not the construction crew working. You don't even know where the noise was coming from or what type it was. I checked with the guest before you and after you and they said there was no noise at 5:30am. The HOA house rules for construction workers start time is at 9:00am and end at 5:00pm Monday to Friday only. In the future when writing reviews don't use foul language, you should be better them that.

Good Choice
We stayed here for 6 nights in March 2024. Overall we made a good choice. The location is perfect for west Maui and view from the balcony is excellent. When you book with the owner, you will receive a packet that lays out the property and the rules. It may seem like a lot but once you arrive you will understand how they keep such a clean and orderly condo. The loveseat is new and nicer than the picture. It was great having the washer and dryer in the room and the AC was very quiet and did a good job for the one night we needed it. Every other night we went to sleep with a nice breeze and the sound of the ocean waves. The pool area is good with lots of outdoor seating and fruit stand that was open in the afternoons. We did not use the grills, but they are in good shape. As of March 2024, there are some sandbags along the beach wall due to beach erosion, but there is an oceanside walkway to the smaller beach just south of the resort. We would stay her again if visiting west Maui.

Amenities were great for two people. Views were outstanding. Owner was available if there were any problems (there were none) . Nicely decorated, exactly as the picture shows. We were not disappointed. Would do it again.

Lovely place to watch whales
Communication with our host was great. The unit was a studio, so it was smaller than what we usually stay in. But it was so well laid out, and there were so many nice details that it worked really well. Watching whales from the lanai was a favorite activity every day. Even if it wasn't whale watching season, just enjoying the beautiful water would be nice.

Great Spot for a relaxing get away.
Very impressed with this condo and how well it was maintained and set up, so many nice little touches including beach chairs, a cooler, basic items for cooking, and binoculars for checking out the view. Great views of the ocean (keep an eye out for turtles that swim by!) and the surrounding area. The pool and lawn area around the building were a great spot to relax in the evening after a day at the beach. Easy walk to the beach and restaurants/shopping.

We loved everything about the place. The location is great, the building facilities are super low key and extremely clean. Not many people on the beach and very calm. The apartment itself was very clean, fully equipped and even had an updated guidebook that we referred to often. Excellent communication with Mike before, during, and after the stay. Overall perfect!

The condo has a generous balcony with comfortable seating. Upgrades and cleanliness in the condo make it feel comfortable. I would choose this condo again when returning to Maui. The beach is eroding but there is the option of convenient ocean access for a quick dip in the ocean.

Stayed with my husband & it was perfect for us. With a stove & refrigerator we had breakfast in & enjoyed the beautiful view. We could see turtles in the ocean from our balcony. We used many of the amenities like the beach chairs, cooler & beach bag. Had a wonderful time. I wish I could do it all over again!

EXCEPTIONAL!!!
We stayed for a week in early June and everything was great. The condo smells super clean, is appointed with nice little extras such as sunscreen, cooler, beach chairs, plenty of tissues and other amenities most condos force the guest to purchase. Communication was fast, responsive, and super informative. The staff at the Royal Kahana are all very receptive and friendly and there's fresh coffee and filtered water in the lobby area for daily use. The water machine was a lifesaver as the local water is fairly undrinkable but the filtered water dispenser allowed us to fill gallon jugs in seconds and we stayed well hydrated. The condo is easy to access and we had zero issues. The only negative of the whole stay was the endless groundskeeper work and daily trash trucks; the leaf blowers and back-up alarms start early and it wouldn't have been a huge issue had we not left our door and windows open to listen to the waves each night. I realize it takes an enormous effort to maintain such lovely grounds and properties but each day it went on for at least an hour starting in the morning so just be prepared. Another big plus to this condo location is it's a 2-minute walk to Maui Brewing which has great food and beer!!

Clean and thoughtful
Mike's condo was beautiful, clean, and thoughtfully appointed. He includes many conveniences to make your stay more comfortable. He offers plenty of literature prior to your arrival and the check in/out process was very smooth. The location was very easy to find and parking was not a problem at all. Great views from the balcony and sleeping next to the ocean waves was refreshing. I definitley recommend his place.

Absolutely Perfect
To say I loved our stay here would be an understatement, it was absolutely perfect. One of THE cleanest VRBO’s I’ve stayed at. The pictures do not do it justice as that view is to die for, especially at sunset. I spent a lot of time watching the waves, turtles, sunsets and even some whales! The location is close to multiple shops and eating establishments. We didn’t use the pool but did sit poolside one afternoon and it seemed very nice. There are plenty of beaches to choose from depending on what you’re looking for so do a bit of research before heading out. I had great communication with the owner when needed and if I ever make it back to Maui I will definitely stay here. Thanks for letting us enjoy the best of the best at your place!

We had a very relaxing time, enjoyed listening to the ocean, and saw honu almost daily at this lovely condo. It was super clean, attractive, thoughtfully stocked, comfortable, everything worked, and is in a great location. The VRBO listing and photos matched the actual condo. The owner's communications were friendly, well-timed, clear, accurate, and detailed, pre-empting the need for us to ask questions or waste time figuring out things. Great cozy spot
We enjoyed our stay at Mike's condo. Clean, updated interiors, beautiful ocean view, good location. This condo had all the amenities that we needed for our week long adventure in Maui. The hallways of the building look a bit dated, but that is a minor detail and did not take away from our wonderful stay in the condo.

Great Location
The condo is well-equipped for your stay. Its location is ideal. You can watch the sunset, water sports, and ocean from the balcony. It's also centrally located for all that west Maui offers. While we had a car and drove ourselves to the beaches each day, we could easily use Lyft on the evenings we wanted to enjoy dinner out. Mike communicated often with all of the details. We will definitely stay here again. Our Maui vacation was amazing, and Mike's place was a huge factor in how much we enjoyed ourselves.

Great room with even better host!
Honestly the room is 10/10! The views were breathtaking, we woke in awe each morning. The property is also nice, we sat at the lawn chairs to watch the sunset and easy access to the beach. The room had beach chairs, water boards, and cooler which made it supper convenient for us. It room has basically everything that you needed for an enjoyable stay. The room comes with the best host hands down. Mike checked in with us to see if we needed anything and was very helpful. Oh yeah, we forgot our passports and Mike made sure we got those back. Definitely booking this room again!

Too short of a stay
First, the owner,Mike, is amazing. In communication to his hosting.Everything a person would need on vacation he thought of and provided in his beautiful and spotless condo, from all the complimentary amenities, really comfortable bed, to an incredible view from the balcony that provided a great place for whale watching. The condo binoculars gave an up-close and excellent view of a pod breaching! Unfortunately, my wallet was stolen at Whaler’s village on our 2nd day, so we were without the obvious, but also our access code to the condo-No worries , though ;Mike to the rescue. Luckily, my husband had Mike’s number, called , and Mike got us in immediately! My hope is to come back to Maui and book ahead far enough to get more than 3 nights here- Again,Mahola Mike until we return …
