Amazing Breakfast 👏
Fantastic two day stay here. Couldn't fault it. Fab & friendly sraff. The food was excellent. My partner and I both agreed that the full English breakfast on a very cold winters day in front of the roaring fire was really first class - possibly the best breakfast ever! Room was lovely, very comfortable. Beautiful little village. Well worth a visit!

Friendly and welcoming staff. The room was clean and spacious. The food was lovely at both breakfast and dinner. Would have given 5 stars but the bed was a little uncomfortable and mattress could do with being replaced.

The hotel is set in a beautiful location close to famous sites like hadrians wall. The hotel is very clean, friendly and has good food. Next door to the hotel is a brilliant pottery place. It is very reasonably priced and great for gifts.

Amazing place to stay, whether for walking/sightseeing, exploring or get away from it all, you won't be disappointed. If you are disappointed it will say more about you than this brilliant place. The welcome, the food (breakfast and evening), the service, all were top notch in our opinion. We will be back.

Fabulous place to stay, so welcoming and helpful. Amazing breakfasts. Room was lovely, comfortable, excellent bathroom, fluffy towels. Train station just over the road so 15 mins into Hexham if you wanted a car free day. We'll definitely be back.

Thai menu option was a nice change from the usual pub food. Plenty of locals in gave atmosphere. All recently refurbished to a high standard. Clean with good facilities. Near a main road and the train track but double glazing made this no problem if you shut the window. Excellent breakfast.

Lovely stay at this gem just off the main road along Hadrian's Wall. The room was superb, clean, modern and with all the nice touches. Food was great, staff very friendly. We will definately return!

Easy check-in/out. Friendly staff. Modern room & great shower. Ideal location for Allen Gorge walk. Very clean room & pub. Very nice Evening meal & breakfast. Good little coffee shop across the road & a pottery next door. Just one downside the duvet was so thick especially for summer.

Excellent service.
Service was excellent and we were made to feel welcome from the time we arrived, all the staff were extremely friendly, the whole hotel is very well decorated and spotlessly clean throughout, it is also very well situated for Hexham, Corbridge and Kielder forest.

Lovely quiet period hotel
The location was excellent as was the food and service etc. Very pleased with everything, felt safe and valued too. My choice next time would be the potters room overlooking the pottery and that’s worth a visit too. We will go back to this hotel!

Absolutely fabulous, exceeded expectations.
Absolutely fabulous, Bowes is exemplary of a fine BnB countryside haven, except better. Recently renovated top to toe in modern period decor and fitted with every comfort and functional convenience you could reasonably expect in an upmarket BnB. Doubling as a quiet local tavern, travellers and walkers mix with the lovely locals in a calm, peaceful environment that seems to work well for everyone. And the insulation and sound proofing means I heard nothing from the bar/restaurant in my room. My room seemed brand new and was immaculately clean and well stocked with a range of biscuits, teas and coffees, replenished daily. Towels and bedding are top shelf. The bed is veeery comfortable. Lovely dual hand held and waterfall shower. Plenty of storage, new TV if you need it, super fireplace and period features. The downstairs restaurant/bar is equally appealing. It's a relaxing, calm environment with a great range of food and drinks for carnivores and veggies. High quality food for very reasonable prices. The included breakfast is outstanding with a full range of continental and cooked breakfast. The location is ideal for couples getaways, walkers and countryside seekers. And really it's within easy reach of Newcastle, I'd rather stay here. Can't think of anything else but I guess it's clear Bowes exceeded my expectations. I'd love to come back.

A newly renovated hotel that is perfect for a short break to visit Hadrian's Wall. The bedroom was cosy but extremely well appointed with a lovely on suite shower room. The bar area, also renovated, was light and airy. The food was excellent value for money as where the drinks. I will definitely stay here again.
