De Double Eagle Ship

Het uitzicht vanuit één van haar drie dekken is een levend beeld dat u wilt etsen in je geheugen. Eagles, zeemeeuwen en raven vaak cruise langs het schip op de thermiek. Zorg ervoor dat u uw camera mee als u een aantal prachtige foto's krijgt.
De "Double Eagle" werd oorspronkelijk gebouwd als een Gulf Coast Tour / Cruise boot, maar werd omgezet in een Gulf Coast Shrimper. Op 24 maart 1989, de tanker Exxon Valdez op basis van Bligh Reef in het bovenste gedeelte van Prince William Sound. De tanker vervoerde ongeveer 53 miljoen liter ruwe olie. Binnen een paar dagen was het bijna 11 miljoen liter van de olie gemorst in de Prince William Sound. Het was toen dat de "Double Eagle" naar Alaska werd gebracht om te werken en te dienen als een bemanning tijdens het opruimen.

Superb stay in a superb and unique place. A reconstituted 75’ shrimp boat, with magnificent views is tough to beat. Three floors and 3 decks provide for a lot of space and privacy and the place is fully equipped. Great host and great time. We highly recommend.

I wish I could give it more than 5 stars

This place has breath taking views and is one of the most unique places you could stay. Karen was so accommodating and made this experience for my family one of a kind. You will you not find an experience like this anywhere in Homer let alone most of the world. The time we had there will be memories forever. Cannot wait to comeback.

We had a great time here. The space is small and the floors are slanted but that is part of the charm of this cabin. We loved it! They have a photo book of how they got the place moved and built into a cabin which is really neat. The view is to die for and I wouldn’t change a thing about our stay. The hosts were very responsive when needed.

Ahoy there

The best part of staying in the shrimp boat was the nautical surroundings and unobstructed views of the ocean. The boat is comfortable with three decks where our party could spread out in their own space. The hosts were helpful in recommending fishing spots and provided written recommendations for dining and exploring the area. Nice to have the insight of the hosts rather than relying on the internet.

Our family had a fabulous stay in this unique property. The location was great - it felt secluded but with easy access to Homer and The Spit. The views were incredible and the boat had all we needed for a comfortable stay. We are all short (under 5'9") and had no issues, but we did note the ceiling heights might be less comfortable for a tall family. We would definitely stay again.

Unique property

We picked this property for our stay in Homer because it was unique and thought it would be a fun experience. Boy did it deliver! It was exactly as pictured, except the view, that can not be properly captured. We had a minor problem and it was handled so quickly it was like it never happened. The communication with the owner was above and beyond, not just with the issue, but in giving hints on places to visit and must try restaurants. If you are looking for an amazing place to stay in Homer, you have found it! Thanks for the memories.

Unique Experience

I travel to many places and this place and location is now one of my favorites. This place (boat) is my idea of a perfect vacation home and destination. Every detail is thought of, not only its location with gorgeous views, but also all the extras. This 70’ shrimp boat is spacious, has a fireplace to warm things up, or spacious decks to enjoy the sun and watch the fishing boats go by.

We had a delightful stay on "the ship." We were looking for something different that provided space for my dad, me and a teen. It was perfect!!! Fantastic Homer Getaway

Mom Adventure with 3 adult children

This stay was more than amazing and I cant wait to return. I brought my 3 adult children to Alaska for the trip of a lifetime and it absolutely was. The view from our unique lodging was perfect. I always look for fun and unique places to stay and this was perfect. The location was private yet close to everything. My only regret was not being able to stay longer.
