Lobby/Reception is at the 3rd floor and does not have a typical desk - it makes for a modern hotel approach, I guess. Very classy design all around.
We were denied entry to the rooftop bar for our 12 yo accompanying us for an evening closure - which was surprising, but OK - might be an American rule in a Japanese hotel that seems uncommon for European visitors. '

Max. 5 mins. walking distance to the station using the underground. Quiet area with restaurants within walking distance. 'Superior double room was very small. Could not leave suitcases open without blocking the door. Bathroom felt like a boat cabin within a cabin. Staff was friendly but that’s like everywhere in Japan. '
'This place was a dream, I had a big room with a beautiful bathtub and the whole place was bliss. The staff spoke great English and were very kind. The Taiwanese breakfast was delicious. I had a massage here which was one the best I have ever had. The location is so convenient for shops, kenrokuen gardens and the the art museum. I would love to come and stay again '
'Traditional stay in beautiful room & hotel. As non Japanese speakers the staff tried really hard with Google translate to communicate with us which was appreciated. Food was delicious & different each day. The garden view from the rooms & dining area were lovely. The only minor complaint was the hard Japanese style pillow which seemed to be full of rice or some kind of grain??? We tried to embrace it as part of the experience! Great location, can walk everywhere and/or there is a bus stop...
