Black Mtn / Jackson NH- Downhill & X Country Skiing- privé

Deze moderne en aantrekkelijke blokhut ligt hoog op Black Mountain, Jackson NH. Omgeven door het White Mountain National Forest. Het heeft het gevoel in de Yukon te zijn, maar minuten voor de bewoonde wereld. Stap 's avonds uit, doe het licht uit en op een heldere nacht kun je bijna de sterren aanraken. Aan het einde van de oprit bevindt u zich op de National Forest-wandelpaden die in de winter worden omgezet in geprepareerde XCountry-skiroutes. Deze en 50 anderen (150 km) worden onderhouden door de Jackson X Country Touring Assoc. 5 Min en je bent de basis van Black Mtn DownHill Ski Area en een 15-20 rit brengt je naar Cranmore, Wildcat of Attitash DownHill Resorts. De privacy en het spectaculaire uitzicht dragen echt bij aan deze geweldige blokhut. Het interieur is mooi ingericht, 3 slaapkamers en een granieten aanrechtkeuken die volledig is uitgerust (geen vaatwasser). Houtkachel open haard in de belangrijkste gemeenschappelijke ruimte grenst aan eetkamer en woonkamer. Het lagere stakingsniveau bevat een recreatie / stapelbed (4) kamer met flatscreen / dvd, grote filmselectie, pooltafel, speeltafel en tafelvoetbal. De berg af en je bent in Jackson Village schilderachtig en ongerept, met een aantal toprestaurants en tavernes. En de stad North Conway is 20 minuten rijden - belastingvrij winkelen. Cabin is 60 mijl van de kust van Maine en 125 mijl van Boston.

Unbelievably peaceful cabin-house that is somehow 10 min away from civilization. Dead quiet, day and night, stars are gorgeous, and everyone should get to drink their coffee in front of a big window showing the sun coming up over the mountains. Rooms are big and comfy, variety of hard/soft beds, which was great. Fireplace-stove was fantastic on the chilly nights, and my dogs loved the challenge of the downhill driveway to fetch balls on. George was a consummate host who went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed for a great stay. Mission accomplished! I cant wait to get back!

A mountain paradise! A touch rustic but a perfect family friendly option for myself and three teenage boys. Dog friendly - a huge bonus! Just a short drive from Jackson, the river, and Pinkham Notch AMC Visitor Center. We will definitely be back.

Beautiful Cabin

My family and I enjoyed our short stay at the cabin. It was peaceful, clean and relaxing environment! George was very communicative especially helpful with guidance in the area and hosting. There are additional costs for the cabin to use linens and trash pickup. I appreciate he offered us the opportunity to take our own linens, towels and dispose of our trash to save on costs. I also had some transportation issues on my side getting there and George was flexible. Nice memories in New Hampshire thanks to the cozy cabin!

Another fabulous stay here

Our family has been coming here for years and we absolutely love it. Our youngest was 7 when we first came and now he is 22! Relax with a book, go for a hike, go for a run or xc ski on the nearby trails, fall asleep in the grass, cook up a good meal, enjoy each other’s company without tv or constant internet distractions. It’s cabin living as it should be. George could teach a masterclass on being the best owner for renters; he’s truly one of our favorite people ever.

A wonderful getaway to unplug and recharge

From the minute we booked, George was incredibly friendly and helpful, sending us directions, restaurant reccomendations, and helpful videos to help ensure our stay is as good as possible! He called me as soon as we arrived to welcome us and give us an opportunity in case we had any questions. This cabin was wonderfully secluded and I don't think I've EVER seen so many stars at night. The cabin was also so welcoming, and decorated like an outdoorsmens dream! I will say, as the description already says, you will need 4/all wheel drive for the driveway in the snow/mud season. Also be aware that many of Jackson's restaurants are closed in the beginning days of the week, but North Conway is a short drive to many restaurants and shopping! Overall it's a great place to unplug and reconnect with loved ones and the great outdoors!

This is the perfect small cabin in the woods! Up a dead end road where the forest trails (ski and hike) begin. For folks who like nature and a calming place. The owner was always available by text and most helpful. It is heated by woodstove 80%, has good cell phone reception, lots of dvds. Center of Jackson with good restaurants 6 min. away. We are planning to return.

The perfect quiet getaway.

The definition of serenity. A perfect full size cabin nestled in the woods on the side of a mountain that is as far away as you can be without having to go far away. Our family visited in February for a snow-cation and we weren’t disappointed at all. George, the owner, was very responsive and provided a wealth of recommendations for local amenities and activities. The cabin had all we needed. We even spent two days just in the cabin itself relaxing, reading by the fire, and playing board games. An escape from reality our family desperately needed. I am certain that we will make our way back to “ Thistle Rock!”

Beautiful secluded cabin with a lovely wood stove

We love the Jackson and Conway areas of New Hampshire. Great for hiking and kayaking, also great food (though more in Conway). This was the perfect place we needed for our anniversary weekend away, free of distractions. The ONE negative: I get charging $25 for bed linens and towels, as laundry is a significant additional effort. But charging the same for trash removal? We lugged a bag of garbage 200 miles back home. Guests shouldn't have to do that. Trash disposal is a basic service and shouldn't be extra. Didn't affect my overall view of the place that much, but it wasn't a nice end of the trip.
