Welcome to The Container Retreat @ 290 Wine Trail! The perfect place to stay as you explore the beautiful Texas Hill Country and it's amazing wineries, parks, shops and people. We are happy to share our special getaway with you and truly hope you enjoy it as much as we do. The peace and tranquility is amazing and we are right in the middle of over 50 Texas Hill Country wineries. We have four within walking distance that you can begin to enjoy as you settle in: Blue Lotus Winery and Silver Dollar Winery to the east and Untamed and Freedom Cellars to the west. So whether you are looking for a quick getaway or a home base while you attend one of the many festivals and events in the surrounding areas, we are the right choice.
Our containers are arranged in pods of five surrounding majestic oak trees and lush landscaping with just enough ambient lighting to make it relaxing and comfortable. If you want to hang out, just walk over to the common area where you will find open space, chairs, a hammock and our custom Container Retreat cornhole boards.
Our mattresses were custom handmade locally from Cantwell Mattress in San Antonio. These mattresses are made in Texas with 100% All-Natural Cotton sourced in Texas. Our shampoo, conditioner and body wash are made with 100% Pure Morocco Argan Oil and are 100% Vegan & Cruelty-Free. In addition, our hand soap is made with essential oils, aloe vera, olive oil, and without parabens, phthalates or artificial colors. We have provided everything you need in our kitchenette, including a corkscrew and wine pourer to enjoy your Texas Hill Country wine.
Couples getaway, check! Girls weekend, check! Bachelor or Bachelorette parties, check! Whatever the occasion, we are the right choice. Photos are representative of Containers Nine and Ten and décor may vary, but the layout is the same. If you need to book larger parties, we have a total of ten 20' containers and three 40' containers available that can accommodate up to 32 adults.

Better than expected!

Yo be honest I was a little reluctant to stay in a container but the experience was very pleasant. At a great price, the place is just what you need to spend the night. The location is amazing, just in the middle of everything if your winery hopping. A good variety of places to have dinner/breakfast nearby and the communication with the host was very easy.

Charming, Well-Appointed, Cozy Stay

These folks have done a superb job of making a small space provide everything you need. Our "container" was very well decorated with a bit of a vintage look, super clean, and comfortable. Better than staying in a hotel, very quiet and with a great view of the meadows in the background. We will stay here again!

This property is prettier in person! Perfect for 1–2 people. View out back is gorgeous. I would stay here again. It’s close to Fredericksburg and surrounding towns in the Hill Country! Check out Mucho Food truck park in Fredericksburg!

Great concept. Really a smaller container more like hotel room. Very adequate for 1-3 day stay. Kitchen area really setup for minimal cooking. Really close to all wineries. A short 16 mile driveway Fredericksburg.

Great little spot! We enjoyed it very much. Would definitely like to see more lighting though. At night it was pitch black around the property so it was kind of hard to enjoy sitting outside after 6pm.

Cozy Retreat right in the middle of Wine Country!

Very cozy retreat that offers quick access to wineries from Johnson City to Fredericksburg. We had an issue with our lock that was resolved in no time, thanks to the quick response of the owner. I would recommend if you are like my wife and I who are always on the go, checking out the wine and views. Just looking for a quite spot to rest.
