Beach Victorian On The Bluff!

  • Dit Victoriaanse huis uit 1900 is pas het hele jaar door beschikbaar en is pas gerenoveerd. De gezellige sfeer wordt gecompleteerd door de gietijzeren open haard. Het is rijk aan karakter en charme van rond de eeuwwisseling - allerlei architectonische details die moderne huizen missen.
    Er is een geweldig uitzicht op het water, plus uitzicht op Moosebec Reach en Beal's Island over het 120 'croquet-gazon met een vuurplaats. De klif grenst aan een 100'-breed privéstrand beneden. Er is een aanlegsteiger beschikbaar.
    Kijk hoe de kreeftenboten komen en gaan of loop het hele jaar door naar de lokale pieren voor verse kreeft en andere zeevruchten.
    Het huis is gunstig gelegen nabij Jonesport Pizza Shoppe, Bayview Seafood Shack (seizoensgebonden) en Hamilton Marine - een cadeau- en ijzerwinkel. Het huis is ook een paar blokken verwijderd van de plaatselijke supermarkt en de openbare bootstart bij Sawyer's Cove, die kalm en pittoresk is. De schilderachtige stadsbibliotheek ligt direct aan de overkant van de straat.
    Bovendien ligt het natuurreservaat Wass Island op slechts tien minuten rijden. Het reservaat biedt een wandeling van 1,5 mijl, die u naar een uitgestrekte, rotsachtige oceaankust brengt. Je zult mijlenver niets anders zien dan dieren in het wild en de oceaan.
    Je hebt ook de mogelijkheid om een boottocht te plannen op een kreeftboot over de Pleasant River of te genieten van een wandeling van 1,5 mijl langs Sandy River Beach - een van de meest onberispelijke stranden die je ooit zult zien.
    Om nog maar te zwijgen van het feit dat het huis slechts 1. 25 uur verwijderd is van Acadia National Park, Bar Harbor, Lubec, Eastport en Canada.
    Bovenal is dit huis de perfecte plek om gewoon te ontspannen. Lekker luieren in de voortuin ruik je geurige Maine-dennen, de wijde oceaan en geniet van de warme zon. Er is echt geen plaats zoals deze op aarde.

Great property that gave us so much so space to spread out. The kids could adventure on the beach and play in the yard. The house had everything we needed, great location for day trips to the Canadian border and down to Acadia and everything in between.

Wonderful!

We loved our stay at Neptune! The house was cozy and had everything we needed. The Jonesport area is great if you enjoy beachcombing and hiking.

Extraordinary views of beautiful and historic Moosebec Reach on coastal Downeast Maine as seen from a fully furnished Victorian setting. Convenient to everything the town has to offer from an abundance of lobster pounds, fresh harvested mussels to a general store and public library all within walking distance. A pleasant and affordable setting with an attentive host.

Enjoyed our stay

Nice spot on the bay. Jonesport is a quiet town with beautiful coastline hiking nearby. Not lots of restaurant choices in the area, but we had a very good visit.

Beautiful view

Perfect location for our photopgraphy excursions. The house was quaint and clean. It was easy to find and the location had a beautiful view out the back. The Pizza shop a short walk down the road was perfect and delicious too! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Place to relax by the sea and fire

We loved the house on the bluff over looking the coming and goings of the lobster boats. We enjoyed both the inside fireplace and outside fire pit. Great place to recharge.

Vacation in downeast

We throughly enjoyed our stay in Jonesport. The view from the house is lovely and the peace and quiet was just what we were looking for. We enjoyed cooking many meals but also enjoyed trips to Machias for a meal at Helen’s and to Chipman’s Wharf in Milbridge. Wonderful area with friendly locals. Highly recommend it!

Just what we needed.

Property is as advertised. Older home with great view of bay and fishing boats. Very relaxing. Jonesport has a central location and very friendly people. Not much to do in town but day trips get you to a lot of fun places.

Tranquil and beautiful location on the Coast of Maine

This property was absolutely wonderful! The house was pristine and had all of the amenities we were seeking, including a tub for our youngest chimd. We loved the beautiful yard and enjoyed bonfires overlooking the ocean. It was Close to the market and to the pier where we bought freshly caught Lobster. Amazing!

My husband and I stayed for a week and it was and it was difficult to leave, we both enjoyed just sitting by the fire pit watching the lobster boats go by and watched as they unload their catch just down the beach. We walked along the beach and found a few treasures to bring home, also just a short drive away you can buy lobster right off the boat you will never find any thing fresher than that!!!! It was very quiet and peaceful, I can't wait to have the chance to go back!

Great atmosphere

Wonderful view, enjoyed the lobster boats coming in and out on their daily work. I plan on coming again. This was a vacation that took a very long time for me to take. Being a business owner I needed the solitude. Thank you Jonesport for being that respite.

One can't plan for bad weather, but this home was a welcome refuge from the storm. Watching the fog lift over Moosabec Reach was spectacular.

As expected

We enjoyed our stay, and Scott was receptive and quick to respond to our queries. The home me is clean and the location is Beautiful. The area is peaceful and very quiet. Seeing the Milky Way and planets was a treat I haven’t had since I was as a child and light pollution wiped them from the sky. . One couldn’t ask for more

Location Location Location

I came to Washington County to paint in a beautiful location and to walk beaches in the cooler air of Eastern Maine. I loved the old house, the quiet neighborhood, the fresh breezes here. Sandy River Beach was an easy 3 mile drive when I wanted a quick break, a clean sand beach that was great for walking. Townspeople are friendly and helpful. Although I didn’t explore the area because I pretty much had what I wanted at “home” there’s lots to check out for the more intrepid. I will return.

Nice home with view of water. Comfortable beds. Home was clean. Host charges a cleaning fee which for three nights was a bit steep. There was also a gratuity envelope for the cleaner which was off-putting. There are no smoke alarms in the home and there is a wood stove that doesn’t look like it’s been inspected recently. I’ve heated with wood for over 50 years and I did not feel safe using the stove after the first night.The gas grill on the deck is nice but it’s placed right against the exterior wall. We moved it when in use but again, another fire hazard in my opinion.If you’re looking for a house on the water, bring your own smoke alarm and don’t use the wood stove then this property is fine.

Jonesport 2023

Scott's house was the perfect central location for my mother's & I visit. Lots of day trips! Bring your passport to go to Canada. The lawn overlooking the harbor was a great place to watch boats, read & relax. We did a lot of beach walking. The beach is covered with shells of all kinds & glass so you definitely want shoes on. Just down the road is Sandy River Beach, again good for walking & that is where I went to read with toes in the sand. We got clams from Hattie at Moody Seafood & mussels from Bobbie Jo at Moosabec Mussels. Bobbi Jo recommended Look Lobsters for lobsters but we had a family friend in the area that we got those from. We got blueberries from Wescogus Wild Blueberries. Plenty of spots to get fresh eggs from. Mannafords Market in town was a good place to get some simple staples. Of course we had to get some red-hot dogs! The Shop & Save in Columbia was the better store for veggies and produce. The house was comfortable & clean. The kitchen was well stocked with pots & pans & doodads. There were coffee filters, we did bring our own & ground coffee. Plenty of towels & face clothes. There was detergent & dryer sheets for the washer/dryer. I stayed in the room that Gene Autry stayed in. My mom was so excited about that. He wrote "Here Comes Santa Claus" & "Rudolph, the Red-Nosed Reindeer". Beautiful morning light through the windows. Breakfast was always in the viewing room. There is a TV but who needs one you are staying at the beach!

Old fishing port with great view of lake

Jonesport is an older fishing port. The house is a renovated 1900 home, so floors squeak, only bathroom is located upstairs, but does have a great view of the port. Came in October so Port not busy and limited options for food and hikes.

Wonderful place to explore Downeast

Great place! Our host was very responsive and the house was very clean and had everything we needed. The views are amazing! Just sitting inside or outside and looking at the water is lovely, and it's a great location for exploring all the beauty of Downeast.
