'This is an attractive hotel that is clean, the staff are friendly and the breakfast is fine. My only issue is I did not realize the rooms are not cleaned daily. The first day was fine, we didn't need clean towels or our sheets changed. By the second day though our trash cans were overflowing and we were running out of toilet paper If I had known, I would have caught the cleaning staff in the hallway and asked them to take our trash and for more toilet paper. 'We have stayed at the Capital Plaza Hotel many times on our way to the Bourbon Trail. The staff have always been friendly and welcoming. The hotel itself is older and dated which is part of its charm and appeal to us. We were unaware when we booked through Expedia that the hotel was undergoing major renovations. 'The St. Clair in Frankfort is a charming boutique stay in a beautifully restored historic building, with loft-style studios full of character, an easy walk to downtown restaurants, and a convenient drive to nearby bourbon distilleries and Churchill Downs. 'Front desk personnel not always at desk. Need lightening in parking lot to the right of registration building. Odor in room (102). When air was on odor lessened. Breakfast just cereal and coffee. Looked like muffins and fruit absent( despite containers for them). We stayed less than 12 hours. Room was fine like an and bed was comfortable. Looks like they are trying to fix up the place.'
