Right on Ocean!

Our room overlooked the ocean. Fantastic views. Listing photos were 100% accurate. Loved watching the surfers from early morning till sunset from the lanai. Gorgeous sunsets! Hearing the waves crashing against the rocks was exactly what we wanted. The condo kitchen was very well equipped. Comfortable beds. Excellent location - grocery stores, restaurants & shopping nearby. The pool & hot tub were clean & also on the ocean - great views. Having a gas bbq by the pool area was perfect. No complaints. For us, a perfect Hawaiian getaway.

DON'T DO IT

We stayed 3 nights. Our experience was a huge disappointment in the unit. The unit is moldy, mildewy, dirty and we had only 1 working shower for 2 of the 3 nights. The furniture is covered in vinyl and sagging. The washer worked but the dryer did not do a satisfactory job. The view was gorgeous as long as you were standing on the balcony. The windows are old and fogged. The linens are old and thin. The towels are frayed. The kitchen was relatively new and the refrigerator was clean. The bathrooms were extremely dirty.

Absolutely stunning view!

We had 2 couples for our week long stay and we all had a great time! We especially loved the mornings on the lanai and watching surfers every morning and evening. There’s a little tiny beach right next door which took us a 4 days to discover. Wish we had found it sooner as it has nice shade trees and a beautiful view as well, and the lanai can get pretty hot in the afternoon sun. The condo is older, with corrosion from the salt air, but is clean. The ocean waves crash against the barrier wall in the mornings so it’s difficult to keep the big windows clean from the salty ocean spray, but you can’t beat that view! Both king beds were comfortable, which is my top priority. The condo had everything we needed. We would definitely stay again

Overall we really enjoyed our stay here. The location was great with access to shopping, restaurants and various beaches. The condo itself was pretty basic but it had everything we needed. The only downside for our group was that it's not a very kid friendly place and we had several kids in our group. They were excited to play in the pool but the rules about noise and activities are really strict. For that reason only, we probably wouldn't come back to this place unless it was only adults on the trip.

Beautiful view!

The property is just as described, right on the ocean! It was fun watching the surfers right out the window. The 3 separate A/C units were great to have although the LED lights from the panels were a bit annoying at night. The unit is bright and airy, clean and comfortable. We personally loved having no carpet anywhere in the condo, just nice tile and LPV flooring. Kitchen was well stocked, and bathrooms had plenty of towels. The condo actually seemed bigger than the photos showed. The beds were comfortable and we really liked all the ceiling fans which kept the A/C distributed nicely. Condo is easy access right from the elevator, and garbage chute is conveniently located right outside the front door. We would absolutely stay here again!

Best location! Fantastic views!

We absolutely loved this unit! The king size beds are SUPER comfortable in both bedrooms! The location is perfect! The living room furniture is dated but very cozy - the tv was perfect for all of our streaming needs. There are 3 split AC units and ceiling fans in every room! We were never hot. They provided some beach/water items like chairs, a cooler and an umbrella, which were nice perks! They have a few beach towels but they are thread bare and not absorbent at all. The kitchen is stocked pretty well - It would be nice if they would add BBQ tools, a muffin pan, and some sharp knives, but I’m kind of picky about kitchens since we cook so much. The washer and dryer are small and it takes a long time for clothes to dry but was thankful to have it. We would definitely stay in this unit again and again simply for the comfy beds and perfect AC. The complex was built in the 70’s - we were amazed at how well maintained this entire property is. The covered parking is well lit, the pool was refreshing , the hot tub was big and perfect for watching the sunset, the 2 grills worked perfectly, and the community lanai was a great place to play games. The complex is quiet too.

The stay was 2 weeks long and not enough time!! The condo is easy to find, sits on an amazing bay filled with surfers and occasionally a few porpoises! The unit is spacious and filled with light. Exactly as pictured. The beds were very comfortable and the split air conditioning allowed for each person to customize their comfort zones. Kitchen was well stocked. The lanai was a bit narrow but was the perfect good morning and early evening place to hang out! Tracey was quick and friendly to respond to any questions we had . This was my first trip to Kona but I’d gladly rent this unit again.

It was just OK

My husband and I stayed for 10 nights in March 2023. Unfortunately our flight was delayed and we lost a night at the beginning. Cancelation policies meant not getting reimbursed for the night. Nevertheless, my review is not because they wouldn't reimburse! Cons: We arrived at 930 pm and we were given the wrong code for the elevator, which is the only way to get up. We texted both managers and eventually one of them did text back with the correct code. But kinda frustrating sitting in the parking lot waiting for a response. There is no AC, which we knew. Don't be fooled, you need it. It is muggy and stuffy if you keep the windows and drapes closed to keep it cool from the afternoon sun. The back screen door was broken so we couldn't use it and get air flowing through. The place is very dated and small things could be done to improve it. Perhaps some new bedding and towels that aren't thin and stained would be a good start. There was a review about the knives in 2022 and how dull they were. Obviously no one read them, since the knives were very very dull so cleaning fruit like a pineapple was almost impossible. Needs a good cleaning throughout. Two of the 4 chairs on the deck were almost broken but there was only 2 of us so we made it work. Drawer in the kitchen is broken. These are simply things that could be done and make the difference. Pros: The view for the sunsets was amazing. Watching many surfers in front every morning was neat.

Great Trip

The location of this condo happens to be directly on one of the best surfing spots on the Big Island, check any surf map. It was fun to watch them out there on high tides and try a bit of boogie boarding myself. The condo complex was clean and nice and was what we expected when we booked it. The only complaint we had was that the internet modem died so we had no access to wifi or the TV for the first night, second day, and half of the 3rd day. I communicated this when we first got to the unit and the second day and felt the response was very slow for such a simple problem. I've had modems go out in the past that are from the internet company (Spectrum) and it's a very simple procedure to get a new one. That said, they did communicate well and responded politely and appropriately. The master bed was very comfortable and the waves right outside the bedroom was the best sound machine ever for good sleep. Overall, it was a great stay, just a little disconnected for the first couple days with the TV/wifi issue.

AMAZING!

This place was an absolute dream place to stay! The views are exquisite with subsets and watching surfers morning and evening. It had everything we needed with a full kitchen and washer/ dryer. The mattress in the master was a dream to sleep in. Highly recommend and already looking to book another trip there!

Can't beat the location!

The view is spectacular! This is the reason we selected this condo. It is not as outfitted as we would have liked but we enjoyed ourselves. Walmart and Costco are a short drive away. I don't understand the reviews that state the master bedroom has no separation. There is a large pocket door that provides privacy from the living room to the master. We tried taking a beach chair to the beach that was on the lanai and found out when we got to the beach it was terribly broken. I am not sure why someone put a broken chair back. The pool and hot tub overlooking the ocean is so fantastic! We would stay here again!

A Million Dollar View from a Dump! (Cockroaches Everywhere)

Cockroaches in the drawers and cupboards and running across the floor day and night. Oscillating fan was greasy and full of dust and dirt. I replaced 7 light bulbs that were burned out. Bed in the 2nd bedroom lumpy and needs to be replaced. TV in 2nd bedroom did not work! The sheet on the king bed smelled like pee. Towels were dirty. It's a good thing we brought our own towels and sheets. We had to wash everything before we could stay here. The ceiling in the kitchen had been repaired and was not sealed and painted right. The shower in the master bath leaked so bad that we put the dirty towels on the floor to prevent a flood. Main bath the shower leaked and NO water pressure. Furniture smelled like body odor. The dryer lint trap was plugged. The light fixtures were filled with bugs so bad we needed to clean them. The walls were dirty and scuffed with marks and the entire Condo needed repainting. Drapes did NOT fit the window and had the wrong type of hangers to hold them up and we had to constantly fix them. The view was excellent out the door walls. Management did refund 4 days stay for our problems and I did get my deposit back. If they ever fixed this place up and put some money in to it our stay would have been very nice. I would pass this one by! .

Spectacular spot to watch and sleep to the waves

Great spot on Ali'i drive to explore the Kona coast. The location and view is just as magnificent as it looks like in the pictures. The building is one of the smaller ones in the area, with only 18 units - this was a real plus compared to a mega-complex and it was always quiet. There was never more than 2 other people at the pool. We also enjoyed having the beach chairs and cooler to pack up and go. If you want to exercise up and down Ali'i from here, you have ample access. Magic Sands beach is 1 mile away and walkable or for a jog. If you want to get to a grocery store or the main restaurant areas you will need to drive, so you'll definitely want a car. Covered parking space specific to the unit is a plus. There were a few missing touches that would have put the property over the top esp. compared with the other VRBO we stayed at on our trip. Specifically the lack of bath mats, dish towels and kleenex stood out. The bath and beach towels probably need updating soon, too. The kitchen has all of the cookware you need but you will need to shop for everything else you'll need to cook and season your food. The prior residents had left some trash in the nightstand which hadn't been cleaned up and was kind of gross. Wifi was great for the days we needed it for remote work. The TV is as massive as it looks - we watched the waves more but would have made for a great movie night!
