Our Pine Lake Retreat offers the ultimate package for lakefront relaxation! Enjoy our 60’ of sandy lakefront on Pine Lake 1, an excellent spot for swimming on summer days, and enjoy relaxing in the professionally maintained hot tub overlooking the lake! Pine Lake is a 660 acre all-sports lake that includes 4 total lakes, all connected, and is perfect to explore by boat! Pine Lake features a spectacular 4th of July fireworks show each summer and is a favorite spot for fishing tournaments as well! The main house offers 2 bedrooms with one King sized bed and one queen sized bed. For additional sleeping space, we have a guest bunk-room just steps away from the front door (it is not directly connected to the house but very close by). This additional sleeping space offers 2 twin-over-full bunk beds and has heat and air conditioning. Please Note: we close the bunk-room during the Winter months (November 1 through April 1). If you will need to use the bunk room during the winter, please just let us know when you book your stay- we charge an additional $25 per night for use of the bunk-room in the off-season. For our youngest guests, we provide a pack & play upon request. Please note: the pack & play must be reserved when booking your reservation to ensure availability.

The main house features an open-flow from the kitchen to the dining area to the living room with a great view of the lake the moment you open the front door! The living and dining rooms offer plenty of seating for guests and a cozy gas fireplace. The large deck overlooking the lake offers plenty of space to entertain and relax. We offer a comfortable outdoor sofa to lounge and relax, porch swings, an outdoor gas fire table, Blackstone grill, a dining table, a fire pit by the water, and a 6-person hot tub with a gorgeous view of the lake! Our hot tub is professionally maintained and is open year-round.

We provide 2 single person kayaks and 1 two-person kayak for your enjoyment. If you would like to explore the lake even further, pontoon boat rental is available for an additional cost. Please reach out to us for additional information regarding renting the pontoon boat.

In the winter time Pine Lake is very popular for ice fishing and snowmobiling, and also offers great ice skating! For the ski/snowboard/snow tubing enthusiast, there are a few different ski hills just a small drive away as well!

After spending the day on the lake, enjoy a relaxing soak in the hot tub overlooking the lake and wind down in the cozy oasis that we have created on the deck!

Check in was a breeze. House needed a deep clean. bunk house has a smell that is obviously trying to be covered up. Cant lock the bunk house because there is no working lock on door. Had to leave doors unlocked in case kids needed to come in house. No working tv in bunkhouse. House had dirty linens in washing machine upon arival. Everything got wiped down because it was dirty. Dirt in kitchen drawers. Food still on the silverware. Food wedged in couch. Cheap 10 dollar trash can that was broke did not match layout. Pee stains on carpet in rooms. Bed needs replaced. Mattess had a rut/ indentation on the side i slept on. Outside fireplace worked but had to move the glass chunks in order to open flap to start. Hot tub lid was busted and scraped my daughters leg up. The swing fell with my other daughter in it one night. Sore back next day. Peir was busted up so had to be careful not to fall thru Beach was over grown with weeds. Picked the weeds myself to get a sendy area for kids. Kayack were dirty and needed cleaned up. Had straps broke on em. Rented boat wich was filthy. Had to be swapped out due to motor issues. Permanent neighbors on one side were ok but let barking dog out at 5 am a few times. Other side had actual owners there too for the week. They had 3 dogs and never put em on leashes. They would constantly bark and came over a few times. Overall had a good time under circumstances. Price of stay did not match what i was expecting. Very disappointed

The Recurring Retreat

My family and I just returned home from our 4th year staying at the Pine Lake Retreat! Just a few of the reasons I would like to highlight that keep us coming back.....We enjoy that the property is lakefront with all the amenities we need. Our kids love to play down at the waters edge where there is a sandy beach. It's also nice that the property is located within walking distance to the Pine Lake Grocery Store and the Pine Lake Marina. The property owners are incredibly responsive, accommodating and are dedicated to ensuring their guests have a fantastic stay. Any questions we've had or minor requests have always been addressed promptly. The property has always been thoroughly cleaned upon arrival and is equipped with everything you could possibly need for a comfortable stay. We cannot recommend this lake house highly enough. If you're looking for a clean, perfectly located, and wonderfully managed lakefront rental, look no further. We're already counting down the days until our next summer visit!

Fantastic customer care and location

We loved Pine Lake, property owners have a boat available to rent which they conveniently deliver right to the dock. The property was cute but a tad inconvenient for groups over 3-4.4 stars because it’s pricey, we couldn’t get the backyard fire pit to work even when using the printed instructions, the shower faucet and deck could use refreshing. There’s one bathroom, and there is a room separate from the house with bunk beds, this room wasn’t great overall. The air fresheners made everything that was in that room smell (not bad, just strong). Overall, cute place, we loved the hammock chairs and they the best hot tub, very comfortable.

Loved staying here - not suitable for mobility impaired

We really enjoyed staying here. Great view of the lake with kayaks and pontoon available for rent, nice deck with Blackstone grill, large fire table, hot tub, and plenty of seating. Bed and sectional were very comfortable; recliner section was catching, which we reported. House is nicely decorated, and we enjoyed the fireplace. We had no mosquitoes. Owner was quick to assist with questions. Overall, we had a very nice stay! Two potential changes i would recommend are redoing the staircase to get down to the house or incorporating a ramp and considering a generator to cover power outages. We lost power for about 36 hours due to tornado in Martin - obviously not a predictable issue, and we went to a hotel for a night so my husband could use his cpap to sleep. A generator would have spared us having to find a hotel. Even so, if our minor mobility issues don't get worse, I will likely look to book some time here next summer.

Exactly as described

We stayed here as a home base for our mom trip away. It was quiet and relaxing. We spent our two days traveling between saugatuck, south haven, and plainwell and then came back to the lake house to relax. The hot tub was in a perfect location that felt private, but we could still enjoy watching wild life. The kitchen was fully stocked with both cooking essentials and some spices. The hosts were quick to respond to any questions or concerns. We would stay here again without hesitation.

Great Cottage on the Lake

This was the perfect place for a weekend getaway during spring break. Everything is very clean, recently remodeled, well furnished, and the beds and sectional are super comfortable. Location is close to Plainwell and close to nature. Great place for our family with teens to relax.

Overall nice place

Wasn’t in the house much- just stayed here while skiing at bittersweet. But description of the property is right on and communication was fast. Only issue is the bunk room doesn’t get very warm in the middle of winter.

Fantastic Experience!

Very quiet location

Just had the best weekend at this place!! And definately will be back in the summer to rent the pontoon and stay again. Lake is fairly clear. The following were some of the complaints in the reviews. Read the details in the book before attempting to turn both fireplaces on. I didn’t need to call the owners. The dog and cat next door were friendly. The dog would only bark a few times then stopped. The hot tub was amazing, again follow the simple directions. Yes, there is well water so bring a couple jugs of water. I can’t wait to go back!! So quiet!

A very relaxing get away!

My boyfriend and I stayed for a long weekend with our dog for our 10 year anniversary. The house was super cozy and the view of the lake during fall was beautiful! The deck was wonderful and we enjoyed the fireplace and hot tub during the cool nights. And I really loved the addition of the blackstone grill. I love cooking and it was very relaxing to cook outside with the cool breeze and a view of the lake. The only thing I can note that wasn’t listed in the description (unless I missed it) is that the house runs on well water. That’s not a huge deal but just be prepared to buy water to have at the house for drinking/brushing teeth. Everything else was great and I wouldn’t be surprised if we came back again sometime. We enjoyed it!

Quiet and relaxing weekend

This property was the perfect place to relax by the water. The cottage was the perfect size, maybe even a little too big, for my wife and I but it was very clean, with great views of the lake, and lots of natural light. The deck was a great place to sit and relax and enjoy the scenery of Pine Lake!

Great place to stay!

The house was perfect for our group of 4 adults. Kitchen was well stocked with all cookware/dinnerware. Nice coffee machine / keureg. The Blackstone on the deck was a nice touch. The hot tub was pre-heated and waiting for us!! We had trouble getting the indoor fireplace working and the property manager got back to us immediately with instructions and the fire was promptly up and running! We rented the pontoon with the property and it was very nice. I plan to rent here again!

Perfect Weekend Getaway

First stay at Pine Lake

This was our first trip to Pine Lake area. House was very nice with high end appliances and fixtures. Place was smaller with 2 beds/1 bath. But was perfect for our family of 4. Quiet side of a large lake with up north feel. But close to large towns and restaurants. We chose to rent the optional pontoon boat to enjoy the lake even more. We were happy with whole experience and owners communicated real time. Great place.

We had a great time hanging out at this house. My 3 sons 28-32, 2 grandkids 2 and under and 3 dogs. The lay out was great, and the bunk room worked out well. The lake was beautiful and they caught sever bass and Pike. The only suggestion I would make is to not have the plug in air- fresheners. The scent was too strong and bothered my allergies. ( it was easy enough to put them in the box on the deck for the weekend. ) My kids really liked the house and we hope we can make it back again.

Wonderful week at the lake!

What a great week!! We choose to rent the pontoon (which was very nice!) it really made the week. We cruised, anchored and swam, fished, it was so fun. The cottage is quaint and with the bunk room it was the perfect amount of space for our family and parents.

This was our second year renting at the property. Its clean, modern, and comes with great amenities like the hot tub and kayaks. Its extremely convenient to be able to rent the pontoon as well, which we took full advantage of. Would definitely recommend!
