Tranquil "Blue Cottage" close to Eco Point

  • "Blue Cottage" is een rustig en karakteristiek toevluchtsoord in de Blue Mountains, midden tussen de tuinen met een koel klimaat. Het huisje ligt in South Katoomba, op korte afstand van het centrum van Katoomba, scholen, restaurants, cafés, galeries en populaire toeristische trekpleisters. Het ligt heel dicht bij Eco Point – op minder dan 10 minuten lopen – maar toch op een fijne ‘sociale afstand’ van de gebruikelijke toeristische drukte. Het is een tweede thuis, perfect voor stelletjes, kinderen en huisdieren.

    Beschrijving van de buurt
    We hebben een heel goede band met onze buren en we vragen je om die relatie te respecteren. Ons huisdierenbeleid. Ons terrein is volledig omheind. Als je je huisdier mee wilt nemen, neem dan zelf zijn beddengoed en voerbakjes mee. Houd er rekening mee dat er een toeslag van $75 per huisdier per verblijf geldt.

    Bereikbaarheid
    Er is volop parkeergelegenheid op het terrein. Het huis ligt op minder dan 5 minuten rijden van het station van Katoomba. Minder dan anderhalf uur rijden vanaf Sydney. Minder dan 10 minuten rijden naar het winkelcentrum van Leura en de grootste antiekwinkel in Blackheath.

    De winter is het populairste seizoen in de bergen. Veel mensen zijn dol op de open haard en brandhout. We hebben een redelijke hoeveelheid brandhout voor je klaargezet, zodat je er tijdens de wintermaanden van juni tot augustus van kunt genieten. Onze ervaring leert dat deze hoeveelheid brandhout voldoende zou moeten zijn om je verblijf mee te beginnen. Als je meer brandhout nodig hebt, kun je dat gemakkelijk kopen bij het nabijgelegen tankstation. Om het milieu te beschermen, vragen we je verantwoord om te gaan met het brandhout.

    Voor de zomer hebben we een split-aircosysteem in de woonkamer en in al onze slaapkamers. Je kunt de afstandsbediening gebruiken om de temperatuur in de woonkamer en elke slaapkamer makkelijk aan te passen. Het huisje heeft één queensize bed in elke slaapkamer. Het basistarief geldt voor maximaal 4 gasten

    Als je een extra opklapbed in een van de slaapkamers wilt, laat het me dan van tevoren weten. Hiervoor geldt een toeslag van $75 per nacht.

Absolutely lovely stay

Beautiful and clean property. Lovingly decorated and good amenities. Very comfortable beds. Really enjoyed staying here, my dog loved the back yard.

We were quite disappointed with our stay at Tranquil Blue Cottage. The house did not meet cleanliness or maintenance standards. Several windows were broken and had been taped up, which felt unsafe and bought a draft through the house. Although the booking was for four guests, only two towels were provided, so we had to purchase two more ourselves. While the host did reimburse us, it was an unnecessary inconvenience. Additionally, there was a large stain on the bed coverlet, which appeared unhygienic, and the couch was old and heavily stained. Overall, we would not consider staying here again.

Gorgeous and beautifully maintained cottage

We really loved staying at "Blue Cottage". The cottage has a lovely, spacious feel inside, with central heating, comfortable bedrooms, a beautiful modern kitchen, and a comfortable lounge area. We were able to fully relax, especially with views out to the serene garden, and the occasional bird visitor.

Payment was processed by owner rather than through stayz and transaction fee added on top with invoice giving option to pay by bank transfer but Visa card charged 26 hours after invoice received and no warning it would be processed the day after invoice received. Most banks hold new payments at least 24 to 48 hours! Check in process was awful, no information was received about the accommodation address and check in details until we contacted owner after check in time at 3:30pm, they declined to take our phone call and instead sent us the SMS details 10 minutes later. Accommodation was reasonable however windows were broken so leaked air and curtains moved in the breeze, live cockroach in one bedroom (in winter).

I booked a 3 night winter getaway with my 16yo daughter, her friend and our dog. The girls were instantly smitten with the cottage and it's setting and had given it 5 star rating by the end of the trip! Gorgeous, character-filled home in a peaceful and convenient location. Would definitely stay again.

Nice stay

A last minute booking to work on a property we own in the area. Couldn’t have been better. Easy to check in, no fuss, super clean and lovely bedding. Really nicely decorated and in a quiet pocket of Katoomba. Would happily stay again and think we probably will! Thanks to the hosts.

Such a gorgeous cottage!! The interior is absolutely stunning, and the garden and yard are beautiful. So many different flowers - all stunning!! Only a few minutes drive to the centre of Katoomba for groceries, and a short drive to the 3 sisters and Leura. Will absolutely stay again.

"Blue Cottage" close to Echo Point

We loved staying at Blue Cottage - close to everything (notably great walks, the 3 Sisters, lookouts, the sky cable car and many great fine dining restaurants) but also a lovely quiet neighbourhood. Wayne and Wendy have the cottage equipped with everything needed. We would readily stay there again. Highly recommended!

It's always a delight to stay at the Blue Cottage. We've been so many times it feels like a 2nd home. I had an accident while I was holidaying, end ended up in hospital until 4am, but the host was so lovely and responded to my text immediately to confirm the cottage was available to stay another night. It was a relief to know I could relax, and the extended stay has made me want to stay longer next time too!

Convenient, Cozy, and Thoughtfully Equipped Stay

We had a wonderful stay! The property is conveniently located near Echo Point and the town, making it an ideal base for exploring the area. The host thoughtfully provided firewood and kindling, which came in handy on a rainy and chilly summer evening. The space is perfectly suited for four guests, with comfortable furnishings and a dining table designed for that capacity. We appreciated the charming collection of art and furniture, and the small office desk was a bonus for remote work.

Mountain run

My partner and I spent a wonderful weekend at the cottage. I ran the UTMB 22km trail run on the Friday and spent the remainder of the weekend relaxing in the cottage and enjoying the local area. The cottage is extremely comfortable and our chocolate Labrador enjoyed it immensely as well.

This was my 2nd time staying here. It’s such a beautiful cottage. The furniture and decor are gorgeous, and it’s such a relaxing place to stay. The rooms are large, and there’s a huge sofa to relax. Having 2 bathrooms is great too. There are wonderful plants filling the huge backyard, many of which I’ve never seen before. I highly recommend staying at the Tranquil Blue Cottage.

Perfect winter getaway

Had a wonderful stay with my partner and our dog . House was well equipped and clean upon arrival. Generous light coming through during the day and heavy curtains were appreciated for those cold evenings. We couldn’t fault the property - fully fenced property perfect for those dogs that like to escape, plenty of heating available (fireplace, floor vents in all rooms that allow central heating to quickly heat the home), beds and pillows comfortable, nespresso machine available, kitchen fit our with more than enough utensils, glasses and crockery and our favourite, a beautiful porch that gets flooded with sun !! Highly recommend for a weekend away.

It was very bad

There is an extra charge for those with animals when renting But when we got home, there was dog hair everywhere. The house was said to be for 5 people, but they made one bed on the floor, it was very bad. And they took as much money from us as from the other bed. Consider these before renting.

Its was ok

Stayz says check in at 2pm. We got there at 2pm to find a few gardeners and cleaning staff preparing the property. I messaged the owner and he said that's incorrect, its 3pm but wouldn't let us check out late in compensation. The ad says bedroom 1 has a double and double futon but there was no double futon at all - owner offered a rollaway bed for an extra fee. The couch was a bit too dirty (old stains), no fire wood provided because it's not winter? For over 500 a night we should've at been allowed to leave later
