Hoor de oceaan vanuit je eigen huisje!

Kom en maak Ka Hale Malie (het rustige huis) je eigen tropische huisje! Gelegen op 450 meter van de kliffen aan de oceaan. Het is gelegen in Hawaiian Paradise Park in Keaau, HI, centraal gelegen om de vulkaan Pahoa en de nieuwe zwarte zandstranden van de lagere Puna (Pohoiki) te bezoeken.

Het huisje heeft een slaapkamer met een queensize bed met schuifdeuren naar de achterste Lanai (veranda) zodat u kunt genieten van uw koffie of uw diner bij kaarslicht. Eén badkamer met een (gezuiverde) regenwaterdouche die van boven en van de zijkant spuit. Een volledig ingerichte keuken met gasfornuis, side-by-side koelkast, ingebouwde magnetron, aanrecht heteluchtoven, koffiezetapparaat en alle borden, potten / pannen / soap / specerijen / olijfolie / kruiden / ijs trays / wijnglazen je ooit noodzaak. De aangrenzende woonkamer heeft een vintage rotan bank en stoel, een flatscreen-tv van Sony, Roku-streamingapparaat met Hulu en Sling TV, een dvd-speler en soundbar, een bibliotheek met meer dan 50 dvd's (eilandthema!)en WIFI.

Het huis heeft ook een front lanai (veranda) met een tafel en stoelen, compleet met een outdoor tapijt. De achterkant Lanai heeft een outdoor rotan bank, een rotan tafel en teak stoelen, een tropische tapijt en een aantal "feestverlichting" voor nachtelijke ambiance. De beste plek om rond te hangen is misschien de overdekte carport die is omgetoverd tot een buitenrecusiekamer / tiki-bar met tafels en stoelen, een barbecue met veel houtskool en een houtskoolstarter (gebruikt krantenpapier, geen lichtere vloeistof en krijgt kolen mee snel), een koeler, een tapijt ETC.

Het huisje is de enige woning op de 1/4 acre veel te privacy geven. De meeste dagen, en vooral eves hoor je de crash van de golven op de kliffen, minder dan 500 'weg. Binnen een 5-10 minuten lopen is de prachtige kustlijn waar je een paar stoelen kan nemen (Ik geef de draagbare die in de zak), een paar drankjes en kijken naar de hemel en de oceaan. Tijdens de bultrug seizoen kunt u zien of horen walvissen. Regenbogen over de oceaan zijn een wekelijkse evenement!

We really enjoyed our two-week stay at the cottage. It had a little of everything we needed for a pleasant stay. The back lanai was especially nice. The geckos would visit us every time we ate on the back lanai. And you could hear the ocean from time to time. Lots of ocean cliffs nearby to walk to and explore. The only recommendation we have is to fix/replace the microwave above the stove, although Kelly had a backup microwave available. Everything to see on the Hilo side of the island was within a 90-minute drive from the cottage. We would definitely rebook the cottage if we return to Hawaii.

Perfect in all ways

I had the most wonderful stay in this beautiful cottage. The kitchen was amazingly equipped and the bed was incredibly comfy! The back lanai was a place I never wanted to leave and the sweet area next to cottage was a perfect place to hang with my son and family when they came over to visit me. A very sweet neighborhood and I loved falling to sleep hearing the deep ocean roar and the incredible symphony of koki frogs and crickets. I cannot wait to return soon!

we had a 5 day great stay April 8th to April 13. Had everything we needed. Went to the local grocery store and bought the food we needed. The outside was beautiful. Had a bar b que with our friends who live in the area. Thanks Kelly

Quiet restful stay in Kea'au

The property contained everything that we needed and more. At night was could hear the ocean waves and frogs. The morning we awoke to the rooster crowing.The cottage was big enough for the two of use to move around without getting in the way of each other. The only thing the cottage could have used was a bit more space for clothes. My wife likes to put her clothes in the drawers, so I got to leave mine in the suitcase, but I am a guy so I am used to that.We saw the volcano erupting, so the whole trip was a success!

Good location to stay

Great yard and neighborhood for this vacation rental. However inside the rental needs a deep cleaning and new kitchen supplies. Even the potato peeler was broken. The nonstick pans were old and probably have the older unhealthy coating. The furniture on the decks was comfortable but the inside couch and chairs were not.we did enjoy our stay despite these things.

Ideal location

This is a great cottage. Small but very well equipped. Not a far walk to the cliffs where we saw 10 or so turtles swimming below. The other direction is a 3 mile hike to a secluded beach. Would highly recommend.

Nice, quiet, walkable location near lava cliffs, private back porch and yard

After staying in several VRBOs near enough to the highway to hear it 24/7, it was nice to get away to a quiet location (except for the young gals in kitty-corner house that partied all night but it didn't keep us up much; in our sixties, we have to admire their stamina). Comfortable bed, nice to have a private back porch and back yard with some decorations. Not far south to Pahoa with interesting food, shops, and people. Walk about six blocks to a stretch of lava cliffs popular with friendly locals and fisherman who sometime gather for music near sunset. A good neighborhood for walking. Never met Kim but she sent someone over when we needed help with some things.

Its all about the lanai!

Only slept and cooked in the house, every other minute was sitting on the lanai. First time we stayed at a place that was in a community environment that wasn't on the ocean. We really enjoyed how peaceful and inviting everyone we met were.

Good use of space, and great location!

Cute little cottage- loved the 3 lanai spaces. Nothing fancy, but comfortable. Bed was comfy, and the kitchen was adequate- we cooked all our meals there, saved some $$! Great neighborhood- quick walk to Paradise Cliffs, and amazing sunrises. No AC, but easy to keep the cottage a pleasant temp all day. Great base- and easy access to the highway, and points of interest. Highly recommend.

Perfect Location for Two

We came primarily to see the volcano erupting, and this small house was in a great spot. It's not too far from Hilo, and only about 45 minutes from the National Park. It's in a area of nice homes and the ocean is close - we could hear it - but we never had the chance to go to the beach. We especially loved the lanai! It was so comfortable and pretty. We ate all our breakfasts and dinners out there and this is where we spent most of our time when were were at the house. Even though it rained (it WAS the rainy season), the roof was wide enough to keep us dry even when it really poured. The kitchen is equipped with all that you need. The washer/dryer were great to have. It was one feature we looked for when booking, and we ended up really needing them on this trip. Many homes don't have them. If you stay during the rainy season you will need to bring umbrellas. Binoculars were available to take to the Park - we used them! I would suggest you bring a flashlight to use when going to see the volcano erupt at night. This helps when walking on the trails to the overlooks. Seeing the eruption at night should not be missed! We visited the park twice on our three-night stay. There are two quilt stores in the area - one in Hilo, and the other shop on Old Volcano Road. Both are named Kilauea Kreations. The one in Hilo is more fully stocked. We also visited two craft breweries in Hilo - a favorite activity! We would stay here again!

Location !

My husband and I stayed for 2 nights; it has a great location where you can take a short walk to view the ocean from the cliffs and has a bit of beach house vibe. Black sand beach and VNP are easy to get to from here among others! It’s a bit dated and eclectic with some cute decor. We especially enjoyed the back deck with some music and wine! Mahalo

Quaint little place

The property was as listed. A very quaint place in a great area. Centrally located for those who are off to adventure. Be sure to make sure you have everything before you leave as it is a bit of a drive into town. The house was perfect for my husband and I. A few more kitchen items would have been nice - the price was definitely budget-friendly.

Very private, great for two!

We enjoyed the privacy and space. Had everything we needed! Close drive to a lot of things to do. The Kuamana Lava Tube and Black Sand beaches were our favorite stops.

Nice place but needs some upgrades and maintenance.

This property has a lot of potential but needs some upgrades and site maintenance. The inside of the property was clean and comfortable but some of the furniture could be upgraded. The yard could use some maintenance and cleanup such as mowing the grass, removing the junk under the back deck and cleaning up and trimming the vegetation. Also some of the outside patio furniture should be replaced or removed. That said, the place was comfortable and we enjoyed our stay.
