Jimmy, Thank you for taking the time to post your vacation review of The Artist House. We appreciate your kind words about our “comfortable” beds, “wonderfully friendly” staff, “exquisite” decor and “excellent” location. As you mentioned, we are smack dab in the heart of Old Town Key West. While this gives us a spectacular location, we do not have on premises parking, because our home and Old Town was built before the advent of the automobile. While this is inconvenient, there are many parking options within a block or two of our home and I promise you that once parked, you will never see your car during your entire vacation. Key West is best seen by foot or bike and a car is nothing but an inconvenience once one arrives in town. In regard to your first B&B experience, thank you. While we are sort of a hybrid between a B&B and a historic guesthouse, we do offer a complimentary European style continental breakfast each and every morning. Unlike some New England traditional B&B’s, we offer the quaint historic home and decor but allow our guests to serve themselves rather than be tied down to a scheduled breakfast seating. So, thank you again for your kind words and patronage. We hope to see you back soon.

Karina, Thank you for taking the time to review The Artist House. Yes, you are exactly correct regarding the insulation. Our historic guesthouse was built in 1890, before the advent of air conditioning, and these old Conch homes were purposely built without insulation to allow cross breezes and ventilation. With that history comes the drawbacks of noise and higher electric bills. For those guests who prefer the more predictable vacation stays, there are plenty of wonderful modern built hotels in Key West. For those who love the authentic step back in time, we just may be up your alley. As for parking, ditto. Our home was built before the advent of the automobile. As such, we do not have on premises parking but usually can find a spot within a block or two of our home. We also have a loading/unloading spot right in front of the house. As for Expedia, I am not sure the reason they may have faulty information on their site. We always encourage our guests to go on line to our official site, browse the pictures and even call to assure we provide the best room that fits your individual needs. Lori, Yes, Old Town Key West was built long before the automobile. On street parking can usually be found within a couple of blocks from our home. Also, there are a few parking garages around town that we send to our guests upon booking a room. As you point out, there is no need to have a car in Key West. Our home is in the heart of the action and one can walk or ride a bike to everything anyone would want to do in town.
