De twee onlangs opnieuw aangelegde tennisbanen liggen op slechts een steenworp afstand van uw achterdeur.

Everything we needed this vacation to be!

This was a beautiful location for us to relax and enjoy Maui! The view was amazing, the grounds were just as advertised. The home was very comfortable and felt like home. We had 2 teens and all 4 of us had a great time. Quiet here, easy access to the whole island for our daily adventures. Loved it!

The apartment is very comfortable, a great location for our family to be based from. We enjoyed the pool and lovely walks on the beach. The tennis court wasn’t ‘newly refurbished’ which was a shame but we were happy with everything else.

Perfect getaway

The Maʻalea Surf Resort is the perfect cross between a large resort and a house rental. Being right on the ocean was perfect so that you could experience the Ocean while also having access to the pool and your room. The kids loved being able to play and make friends as all the unit face the pools and other kids could be seen playing. The grounds were immaculate constantly maintained. There is an ABC store with in walking distance, or a short 5 minute drive into Kihei to go to the grocery stores.

Although the units are aging we really enjoyed staying in the updated G-10 unit. Our kids stayed in C-1 and it could use some remodeling and improvements. We love the beach and proximity to Kihei and farmer’s market. We’ll be back next year.

Amazing stay!

Our stay was amazing! This property is truly a hidden gem and centrally located to everywhere we wanted to go. The beach is unlike any other we have experienced in Hawai’i with our two teen girls playing/ swimming daily and us thoroughly enjoying our morning walk beside the ocean. The pools are immaculate as is the property in general. The condo was clean, well-stocked with cooking supplies/utensils and other household essentials, and comfortable. The view from the lanai was truly incredible. Malea was responsive and friendly. She kept us updated on storm developments and property protection as well as good local restaurants. While we have always stayed at a different location when visiting Maui, we now realize the error of our ways and will only stay here during future visits!

It’s not a party scene which is nice. I would note that the master bedroom is upstairs in an open loft with very little privacy from the kitchen/living room/dining area. We had coffee every morning out on the deck and enjoyed the ocean view and took daily walks on the beach (which is just steps from the front door). This location is in a bay so the water was a bit murky, we choose to drive to some nearby beaches for swimming and boogie boarding. (Side note: There are some homeless camps a few resorts down in one direction and homeless people a few resorts down in the other direction.) It’s a short walk down the beach to the nearby bakery/coffee shop and shaved ice next to the ABC store. Both were really good!

It was very clean with most items needed for the week. Went to the Maui Ocean Center with grands 7,9,11. They loved it and the new whale 3D movie. Drove road to Hana - kids were carsick- stopped at Garden of Eden to walk around. Never made it to the park - kids were done with it.Loved Mama's Fish House (need to make reservations about 6 months out) Did Pacific Whale boat trip from Ma'alaea dock - lots of whales to see! Enjoyed Nalu's So.Shore Grill in Kihei (serve meals all day), Down the Hatch (Lahaina), Coconut Fish (we did take out), Maui Brewing(Kihei)with nice outside seating, Sugar Beach Bakery - yummy pies, muffins/croissants and Leoda's (on road to Lahaina for pies/lunch (yummy too)Usually a 30 min. wait at Leoda's. Can't wait for us to all return so we can try the restaurants and places we missed by leaving early.

Reviewer Comments: This was my 4th stay at Ma'alaea Surf-1st was in 1989 (with my parents) and last was 10 years ago (with a honeymoon visit in between) and it hasn't lost a step in all that time. Remind me to come back sooner. Beautiful setting and convenient to great Kihei shops, beaches, and restaurants/food trucks. I especially love the location because you can easily get to Lahaina or Wailea/Makena or Kahalui.Our G-10 condo was lovely & comfortable. Beautiful wood tables, etc., and all the cooking equipment we needed.Sorry to say one resident not connected to our condo was unpleasant to me on arrival because she objected to my bringing the luggage cart up to the bottom of our stairway: her attitude bummed me out until Malea, the resident manager, assured me the next day that there was no reason for that lady's criticism. Malea, and Sherry, the concierge, are extremely helpful and were very responsive to our requests. But I will probably not want to stay in G building again in case I run into the unpleasant lady. (I've always stayed in B before.)Molokini snorkeling is awesome, Haleakala sunrise is stupendous BUT bring winter gear!! Star Noodle, Sansei, Haliiemaile General Store, Fat Daddy's Carvery (and adjacent very fun Tiki Bar) all great eateries. Ma'alaea Surf resort and their association (NOT VRBO) is OUTSTANDING and I highly recommend it, even though my recommendation might mean more people competing with us for the condos.

The unit was neat, clean, well-stocked, and well-maintained, and provided a relaxing and quiet environment for our family to reconnect. We thoroughly enjoyed walking along the beach each morning, which was right outside our door. Malea promptly responded to all our questions, and we noticed that the grounds outside the units – the shuffleboard courts, pool area, sidewalks, grills, etc. - were sprayed down and cleaned every day. The unit provided plenty of amenities we weren’t expecting, including a generous supply of extra bath and beach towels, sheets, and blankets, and enough dish soap, hand soap, laundry detergent, coffee, tea, etc. to last past the duration of our stay; the cabinets were stocked with plenty of pots, pans, cups, cooking equipment, a cooler, etc.; and the beds were comfy. Wonderful Stay

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We thoroughly enjoyed our visit. The condo was clean and comfortable. The It had a lot of extras that we enjoyed (boogie boards, sand chairs, pickleball set, snorkel equipment). I love the location, where you are a short drive to everything on the island and close to the ocean. The property is quiet and Sugar Beach is always practically deserted, compared to the very busy beaches on the west side of the island.
