'Pros: The recent renovations are beautiful—the room was very clean, modern, and stylish. The pool area was lovely, and the direct beach access was definitely one of the highlights of our stay. 'I stayed here in the early 1980s, when I was in my early teens. It has been upgraded since then, but still provided that wonderful nostalgic feeling I had when I first visited the Outer Banks! I wanted my kids to experience this as well, so we booked a room for several days. We stayed in a courtyard room, which was still very quiet and comfortable, despite being next to the entrance drive.
