'This resort is convenient to stay at, in terms of proximity to most of the attractions around Taupō. However, it is definitely not up to Accor’s 4 star standards. Despite being old, the carpets are worn out, the ceilings are cracking, the bathrooms are stained and the rooms have a dusty smell. I loved Wairakei 10 years ago, but this was my 4th a final stay, unfortunately. The staff and facilities in the resort are helpful, but it is in need of a major facelift. 'Positive:clean comfy bed. Negative: room outdated, door to bathroom partially blocked by bed three, could hear voices and footsteps of neighbours, as well as toilets and showers. OK for some, not for me. '
