This property is well appointed. Not far from the beach. If you can’t be beach front this is a very nice option. The beds are comfortable and great to sleep. Pool and hotub are great too. The configurations of bedrooms and bath are more suitable for families with younger children (fantastic for that) We had families of teens and adults. It’s worked well but better for children.

Such an enjoyable stay! The weather was uncooperative during our stay so the ability to have a club house with activities for all a plus! Home is great for gathering the family for game night or meal time but room to seclude yourself as well. Hot tub and pool area awesome! Short walk or bike ride to beach or sound, shopping or grabbing a sweet treat. 5 stars on response from owners with any questions we had. A welcome gift waiting on our arrival!

Lovely getaway
Our group of 4 adults and 2 kids had a great time during our stay at “Rendezvous” in Schooner Ridge. The home is within easy walking distance of the beach, along with the town of Duck, and was nicely appointed. The kitchen had everything you need in well-stocked kitchen. The beds were comfortable, and the hot tub worked well. The owners, Erik and Shauna, couldn’t be more responsive. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Great Girls Weekend
The house was wonderful and we really enjoyed the outdoor space. It was so close to beach access and the boardwalk. The only reason I didn't give it a 5 was because when we arrived the pool and hot tub were dirty but the owner had someone come out immediately to clean both.

Fantastic, picture perfect vacation
This house was absolutely perfect for our family vacation. The location was amazing. Right in the heart of duck nest all the restaurants and shops. The walk to the beach was about three minutes max if walking slow. The kids loved having the pool and hot tub at the house but also used the pool at the beach every day. My son loved the gym at the community center. The house was very well Appointed. The kitchen had everything we needed and there was plenty of sitting areas so everyone could spread out. It was also amazing to have so many items available for the beach. Chairs, umbrellas, a cart, sand toys-it was all amazing! There was even a water football which we were so happy to see because we forgot ours at home!! The house was very comfortable and the kids used the board games and basketball hoop in the front every day. Communication was A+ couldn’t ask for anything more!

Beautiful home, great location, clean!
This house was perfect! All bedrooms had linens and towels upon arrival. The home was very clean and tidy. The kitchen was well equipped. We were a group of 10 adults and had no trouble eating at the dining table together. The decks are great to relax on and the beach was just a short walk. We waked to get donuts, drinks, etc too. I would highly recommend and would stay again. Thank you for an amazing place to enjoy our vacation!

An amazing experience
Everything was nice and clean. Only one thing that all of us noticed is that when the oven was on and all doors and windows were shut, our eyes were irritated. It was ok once we opened a door. The area behind kitchen side swing needs a little cleaning. Everything else was just perfect. Thank you Pickering family !

Family fun in Duck, NC
The Pickerings house was perfect for our family of ten adults and five grandkids ranging in age from an infant to six years old. Eric is who I talked to on the phone and through email to resolve any questions and/or issues while at the property. He was easy to get in touch with and very responsive and helpful. You couldn’t ask for a better host. We had a problem with the pool and Eric made sure it was resolved so that we could enjoy the pool. The pool and hot tub were an added bonus and we spent quite a bit of time enjoying them and relaxing and playing with the kids. A note on the bunk bed room - there is a light fixture above one of the beds. There is not a lot of room between the top bunk and the light. Somehow my granddaughter banked her head into the fixture and it completely shattered. Luckily she was ok. I’m just mentioning it for others to be careful since most likely it would be kids using the bunk beds. The house was well stocked and had everything we needed. The beach was a very short walk from the property with private access and really nice. The family room was large enough for all of us to gather and share meals and enjoy conversation. The outside decks were spacious and comfortable. The two picnic tables on the deck were perfect for our group to dine outside. However, the flies were really annoying. An outdoor fan helps somewhat. There was a small screened in porch which was great. Since there was so much porch space a larger screened portion would be a nice enhancement. The views off the deck of the night sky and full red moon were amazing. The short walk into town was nice so we didn’t ever have to drive into the town. All in all it was a wonderful location for a vacation with our family. It’s nice to have hosts you can count on!

Summer reunion
We rented the home for 2 weeks for our extended family. The home is in a great location. 2 min walk to the beach. They have ample supplies for children, infants with highchair and pack plays. Lots of games for the adults also. The management and home owners were very responsive. Erik bought new beach towels and toys. We had plenty of space to enjoy the outside with several decks. The kitchen and living space are on the top floor if anyone in a family has limitations in using steps. Probable only issue is there is not garbage disposal. We overall had a fabulous time. Thank you!

Great home. FABULOUS location.
Lovely home with plenty of room for extended family and everyone will be comfortable. Updated and comfortable decor. Pool and hot tub were great for the kiddos. Lots of stairs with kitchen and living space on the top floor, we didn’t mind and even our littlest one (3) was able to make it up and down, but for those that may not be as mobile, it’s something to consider. Easy walking distance to Duck and beach. Overall a great stay and would highly recommend.

Perfect spring break
The house was bright, clean and cheerful, and a short walk to the beautiful beach. It’s a quick walk into downtown Duck too, so donuts and ice cream were easy to get to (too easy, maybe!) The kitchen had everything we needed, and communication with Erik was excellent. Bathrooms are all newly renovated and lovely. The neighborhood community building was also great for my teenage son and husband to work out in the mornings. We had a wonderful stay and would come back again without hesitation.

Owners Hustle makes a very nice save!
We had a bit of a hiccup with the first night but it was not something the owner could have known about in advance. He did a great job of making us feel taken care of and he deserves to be a five star host. The house itself was spacious and well equipped. We had eights adults ages 22-27 with mom and Dad. IT worked great for us and would even work for families with young kids. Erik even bought a new grill during our stay and had it delivered the next day. The location in Duck is great and the community center for our family was great. It has a fully equipped gym, indoor pool and two tennis courts. Everything is within walking distance which is nice. One small ask (and I do mean small) would be for the house to get a garbage disposal. Bottom line, we would stay again for sure!

hit the spot
lovely house that was walkable to both downtown Duck and the beach. Was clean and had sanitizer on every level to make sure everyone was safe and healthy. Although the pool wasn't open in November, the hot tub was a hit. Abundant patios were great and gave us plenty of space to work, school and enjoy ourselves. Wifi was plentiful and faster than our FIOS at home. Great time!

Tremendous Property
Can't heap enough praise on this property and the ownership/management. Property was very nicely situated for a short walk to the beach and in a quiet neighborhood. All rooms and amenities were as advertised. Everything clean. Management was incredibly quick and thorough in response. We even had a minor plumbing issue during our stay and it was resolved with greater speed than even I would have in my own home. Would definitely stay again and would certainly rent from these owners again.

Fantastic house in a perfect location!
Our family of five had a great time at the Pickering's beach house in Duck! Definitely 5 stars all around! Check-in was easy -- they sent us a code in advance to get in. The house itself is great -- it was very clean, lots of rooms (we didn't even use 3 of them), and they've made quite a few updates and improvements. Communication was easy and fast. And there were a lot of fun things to do in and around the house. Our kids loved the pool, as well as the foosball table, basketball hoop and volleyball. The access to the beach was fantastic -- it's literally a 3 minute walk in the community. Unfortunately the storms off the coast meant we couldn't go swimming in the ocean, but the kids still had fun in the sand and we made up for it by swimming in the pool. Their community center also a nice plus -- they have have indoor/outdoor pools as well, tennis courts and a playground which we used several times. It was also easy to walk to the shops/restaurants of the Duck area (only about a 10 - 15 minute walk from the house). We'll definitely be back again and would love to stay longer next time. Thanks!

Vacation Social Distancing
This was the perfect spot for our family of 16. The grownups had a blast, and the kids said was epic. Shauna and Erik were great hosts, and responded at the drop of a dime to all inquiries. The beach is beautiful, and the pool area is great for kids. The kitchen is stocked with everything, which was very impressive. The pool was fantastic, and the nearby beach was even better! We will definitely be back!

We opted not to bring our dog at the last minute - but you would never have known that this was a dog friendly property - very clean and looks just like the pics. The Gem of the OBX
Our extended family gets together every year for the holidays. We move the location around every year to keep things interesting for everyone, as family members come from all over the country. This year, we found a true gem in this great house, and also in the OBX. This is a perfect place for turning people loose and letting them do their thing. There are lots of things for everyone to do, from toddlers to grandparents. The neighborhood is nice and quiet, so the kids took off on their bikes everyday and we didn't have to worry about them. When they got tired of riding around, they could walk over to the clubhouse and swim or play ping-pong. The adults could walk to town in about 10 minutes to shop, eat or grab a drink. It is a wonderful area with lots to do, so nobody gets bored. The house is terrific. The open concept on the main floor is a generous size and the 3 levels provided plenty of bedrooms and bathrooms, giving everyone their space. Our bunch spent a lot of time in the hot tub, at the beach, or baking cookies. This was our first trip to the OBX and we enjoyed it tremendously. If you're looking for a place to get a large group together, you found it. Our bunch unanimously voted this as the best place yet. We stayed during the Christmas holidays and were pleasantly surprised by the weather. The OBX is likely quite a bit busier during the summer season, but also great in the winter. Should questions arise during your stay, the hosts are very nice and quick to respond. 5 stars!!

The house was perfectly located in proximity to town and beach. The on-site pool and hot tub were perfect as the riptide made swimming in the ocean off limits. The beach was clean and a 3 min walk from the house. The community pool was large and clean. Perfect for a getaway weekend!
We had the BEST weekend at Rendezvous! Our group of 8 moms (with a total of 27 children between us!) had such a relaxing weekend. There was plenty of space to spread out and we enjoyed the decks and the hot tub and pool. It was a super short walk to the beach and a quick one minute drive to the restaurants in Duck. Best house in Duck, OBX
Rendezvous house in Schooner Ridge in Duck, NC was a home away from home. There were 14 in total staying at this property; youngest was 18 months and oldest was late 50’s. The house was able to accommodate all families with us having our own personal space to relax and enjoy. The 7th bedroom off of the 2nd floor master made for a great nursery for our 18 month old daughter. It was a nice, quiet place for her to take naps and sleep, with plenty of room to set up her pac n play. Everyone enjoyed the common area on the 3 rd floor that included an open concept kitchen, dining, and living room which also included a full bath and bedroom. The deck areas off of each floor were awesome, plenty of chairs, a hammock and also tables and benches to eat dinner. This property also included an in ground pool ranging from 2’ -5’, with a hot tub pool side. We enjoyed the 2 outdoor showers when we came back from the beach and getting out of the pool and hot tub. The house also included a sand volley ball court, and basketball hoop. The walk to the beach was short and easy. Once you get down to where you walk from the road to the beach, schooner ridge has a board walk that takes you to the beach or to the ocean side pool for Schooner ridge guests, this was really nice. After spending the day at the beach Schooner ridge offers outdoor showers and a hose to clean all of sand from your gear and yourself. The property included many beach chairs, a cart to haul your gear to the beach, and a few umbrellas. We had beautiful weather all week, rained a few hours Friday. The water temps were around 75 degrees most days. The extra amenities that were included were: extra side by side fridge/freezer with ice maker on lower level, washer and dryer, keurig coffee maker, regular coffee maker, crock pot, electric griddle, stroller, fully stocked kitchen for cooking, rafts for pool use, WiFi, and cable tv to name a few. There definitely has been a lot of updates to this house throughout the years, the beds were also very comfortable. We walked into Duck several times to shop, get ice cream, and watch sunsets. Within a mile of the house there is a small grocery store, gas station, and plenty of places to eat and drink. The boardwalk is within 3/4 of a mile from the house. Highly recommend Waves pizza and Duck Donuts! We hope to book this house again next year for another family trip. Highly recommend booking this house to anyone travelling to OBX!!

Clean property, private pool and within a 2-1/2 minute walk to beach and 6 minute walk to downtown Duck. Also very close to a nice workout facility. If you are not going to be right on the beach, I cannot think of a better location. Home has everything you need: beach chairs, BBQ grill, hammock. Very pleased.

The property was perfect for my family. Two of my sons arrived earlier than check in time and were given wristbands at the club to access facilities and beach. When I arrived at 4 pm, the cleaners were just leaving and the house was very clean and inviting. We used the den off the Master bedrooms for the baby- it was a nice quiet area. We enjoyed the well equipped kitchen and the tables, both inside and out. The children rode their bikes around the circle daily. The beach was fantastic! We used the morning for beach and the afternoon for pool time. Evenings were for walking into town and the hot tub. This house and location (and the Sunday to Sunday rental) made our gathering extremely enjoyable.

Paradise in Duck
Our family of 11 adults and one baby stayed at this property. There were a few minor issues, however, Erik immediately responded to my messages with a remedy and they were only minor concerns which did not inconvenience us. He is a terrific host and this is a wonderful property. We walked into the town of Duck several days during our stay. We loved the private beach. Several of our family members used the gym (because they are young and crazy), while the older adults sat at home and drank coffee and adult beverages. We would definitely stay here again!

We had 4 families together at the property, with children from 2-7 years old. Plenty of space for everyone, with great communal areas as well. So much fun
Amazing from start to finish. Easy communication with owners and rapid response to my questions. On arrival, the house was lovely and my kids wanted to jump in the pool right away. I was awesome to have our own pool (which we choose not to heat) and hot tube because the ocean was too cold still for us to swim (we were there May 9-13). Beach was fun for kites, walking, running, finding shells and crabs. We walked to town everyday to stroll the board walk. Also drove to Carolla to see the wild horses. So much fun!!! House was great! Bed so comfortable, lovely decor, lovely bathrooms. Can’t wait to go back.

Family vacation
This rental was a terrific spot for us to enjoy a family vacation. The location is perfect for walking to beach. The community center is wonderful and a perfect spot for young and old to enjoy the pool and playground. We had a terrific time and will definitely make the OBX a vacation spot again. And I do believe the owners provided us with above average temperatures and sunny skies for the whole week!
