'On the plus side, the bathroom was very clean. On the downside, there was no hot water in the shower. There was no alarm clock, or any clock, anywhere. There were no kleenex. The ceiling in the bedroom had water damage. The "hotel" had no staff. There was a number to call with questions, but nobody answered. Breakfast had to be ordered at booking, but they didn't tell you that at booking, but you could only book breakfast at a time no one else booked. Overall, not very welcoming -- when...

'Property lovely, high standard interior. Staff on reception felt a little awkward as if on guard sat at a desk near the stairs but were always friendly. Access was a little difficult due to cars parked around the entrance to the car park. I guess to avoid the additional charge per night extra charge which we paid. Upon leaving our car was covered in tree sap but it will wash off. We stayed for 4 days and no one came into our room to empty our bins, replenish toiletries or restock the hot drink...

'Het is een leuke, goed gelegen locatie. Het stadscentrum is op loopafstand (20 minuten) en het station is ook dichtbij. De eigenaren zijn ontzettend aardig en heel hulpvaardig. Nadeel was het bed; voor ons was het matras te zacht en wat kort. '

'This is the most wonderful place to stay. It is on a working farm but very close to York. Catherine was the most amazing host and nothing was too much trouble. The breakfast was cooked to order and couldn’t be faulted. Her recommendation for food was spot on and any questions were answered. My husband and I can’t wait to return in the future and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this to anyone considering staying here'

'We had a very comfortable stay. The room was very clean, the breakfast made to your order with additional cereal and juice available. The staff were very friendly and concerned about our needs. Car parking was provided at the back. The location was within walking distance from the town centre pubs and restaurant as well as next to a big Tesco. Perhaps the TV was a tad small. '
