'Hotel Cassendra was a real find. The staff were so lovely and really couldn't do enough to make my stay more pleasant. No question or request was too great or small for them. It is up a steep hill so.wpuld make quite a hike from Kandy but its maybe 300 rupees in a tuk tuk to get up. Very easy to walk down into Kandy however, and it also passes the viewpoint. When you get to the Royal park, there is a lane to the right of it and that ia a handy shortcut into town. It's honesly only a 10min walk....

'Cassendra staff eere welcoming and helpful - even before I arrived. They helped me find affordable transport for a day trip and when needed were able to serve my dinner extra quickly. Wifi was touch and go but ultimately held for a few video calls. The hotel is a bit old but rooms are spacious and clean with great bathrooms.
The location is know to tuktuk drivers and the mountain offers amazing views. Its also very close to the best Kandyan dancers (5 min walk) and a view point!'

'We really enjoyed our stay here. From arriving, the staff on the front desk and in restaurants were on hand to help every step of the way. Room was really spacious and we loved the balcony overlooking Kandy lake. Pool was small, but good to dip into! Although it was quite chilly. Really great location too. Only thing I would say is housekeeping was quite late in the day!'

'Na het verschonen van het bedlinnen omdat het op de eerste keer niet schoon was, was het een heel prima hotel.
Medewerkers zijn erg vriendelijk, ontbijt is prima (je krijgt veel te veel, met heel veel variatie) en de kamer is klein (voor Aziatische begrippen), maar wel prima.
De omgeving van het hotel is lekker druk, maar voelde voor ons zeker veilig aan.'

'Very neat place to stay, up a cliff overlooking the river and large Buddha up in the hills. We had a family suite with two large bathrooms, two bedrooms, two balconies and incredible view. Infinity pool perched on the edge of the property, very cool! Incredible service and excellent food.

'My room was spacious clean and modern. It was very safe and quiet. Breakfast was provided and was excellent. It is located 15 minute walk up steep road from city centre. Easy walking down and cheap uber tuk tuk ride back up the hill after leaving city center. I highly recommend this hotel when staying in Kandy.'

The building, which has been beautifully restored and appointed, sits in arguably the best location above Kandy and the warm and elegant hospitality was memorable. We cannot recommend more highly! I was shocked to see a negative review in my name which most definitely did not come from me. Beware of hacks. '

'Beautiful colonial property, from the rooms to the décor, that transports you back in time. It is very clean, cozy and feels like home. The property rests on top of a hill that over overlooks Kandy and the view is stunning (especially from the infinity pool). Further, the attention to detail, hospitality and professionalism of the owner and staff made this stay even more delightful. Our Bathroom had the usual amenities, but clearly the hotel refills the bottles rather than supplying fresh...
