'Finding House Karakas was easy and after a friendly welcome we were shown our spotlessly clean room. The owners run a very tight ship (in the most positive sense of the word) and everything looks immaculate. Parking is easy and the Plitvicka National Park is about 20 minutes away by car (entrance 2). The only drawbacks were the limited hot water supply in the shower and the fact that the complex is somewhat noisy, i.e. it is fairly easy to hear (loud) voices coming from other rooms. '

'We had a great stay at House Rustico. It is about a 15-20 mins drive away to Plitvice national park, and it is located in a nice little town near a forest. The room is big, clean and is well equipped. Vila Velebita is at the other side of the small town, and is the place where you have to collect the keys to your rooms. 'We had a delightful experience at the apartment! The location was perfect, just a short walk from the national park meant we could leave the car at the property. "We had a great stay at House Rustico. It is about a 15-20 mins drive away to Plitvice national park, and it is located in a nice little town near a forest. The room is big, clean and is well equipped. Vila Velebita is at the other side of the small town, and is the place where you have to collect the keys to your rooms. Vila Velebita is also a great option for dinner and breakfast, it offers traditional cuisine and has a nice atmosphere with traditional Croatian music. When we stayed in house Rustico there was a bear in the surrounding forest that made quite some noise during the night. It was also an interesting experience to walk back from Vila Velebita in the dark to house Rustico while we saw garbage containers overturned and a (fresh) drool trail of the bear. This is of course not the hotel's fault, but keep in mind that the surroundings contain wild life. We stayed in the hotel during September in which bears enter hyperphagia (feeding frenzy) so that explains the bear's behavior. "
