I rarely write reviews but I really need to warn others. I am willing to edit this rating if there are concrete improvement plans.
Unfortunately it was a very frustrating ordeal to get the key. The manager sent me the contact info of who to alert before I arrived. However, once I arrived, she was not present. I called the manager and he said "someone will be there soon." After waiting some time, a Grab driver delivered us with the key. But he had no instructions of how to enter the building. We were sitting ducks with no idea what to expect.
The manager also asked me to send 200 as a "deposit." As a tourist, I don't have access to e-bank transfer and it felt uncomfortable to send funds without any guarantee of return. I would've preferred the deposit being through Expedia or another official platform. We made a compromise of a cash deposit. However, due to all the confusion with grabbing the key, I was not requested to provide the deposit.
Additionally, the key was very sticky and the locks should be replaced.
Finally, with the departure, I was told to drop off the keys in the mailbox. No instructions on where they are. Plus, we learned that you cannot exit the car park without scanning out with the key. So we had to exit the car park and walk back inside to deposit the key. If we didn't know that and deposited the key before leaving the car park, we would've been stranded.
FYI this is an independent homestay, not a hotel suite.
