Comfortable but pricey
I stayed at this hotel for 2 nights. I liked that it was close to the bamboo forest (only a short bus ride). The bus stop is directly in front of the hotel. The room was spacious, the bathroom was awesome with a tub, shower and rainfall shower head. They had various bathroom amenities and additonal things you could request. The bed was very comfortable and the staff were friendly and spoke English. Two things I didn't love. 1. The breakfast wasn't great nor worth the cost. I ordered the western breakfast. There are coffeeshops in the area, according to google. Plus a convenience store not too far (near the station, which is very close to the hotel). 2. There is no laundry facility on site. This may have been an error on hotels.com's end, but this location does not offer laundry. This is a laundromat about a block or 2 away, across the street. However, it is very small and only had a few washers, which were all taken when I arrived. I dont think I would stay here again. All the hotels I stayed in during my 2 weeks in Japan were nice and this one was the most expensive.

The neighborhood was lovely. There is a great lunch steakhouse, a hamburger place and a convenience shop real close. Staff wrote welcome letters and we wrote one back to staff.

Excellent hotel
This is a gem! The room was amazing and spacious. The only I’d recommend is perhaps have some dining recommendations for guests as it is tucked away from the busyness of Arashiyama.

We stayed in the Japanese Western Style Annex, and it was absolutely gorgeous. Upon arriving the staff greeted us with cups of hot green tea, and were incredibly helpful and kind throughout our stay. They even made us a reservation at a restaurant for dinner one night, as many of the restaurants are on the smaller side and seating is limited. The room itself was fantastic, very cozy and quiet, which was much needed after 2 weeks in Osaka! Would absolutely stay here again, it was worth every penny (or yen I suppose).

We love the hotel so much and highly recommend to all of you. We rent a Japanese style room with annex with high CP value. The room is very spacious especially the bathing area and the design is quite modern. The bed is comfortable and big enough for our family (2 adults and 2 kids in 2 y.o. and 4 y.o.). The room is clean and smells good with a decent wooden smell. The hotel is just a few minutes walk from the JR Saga Arashiyama station and is easy to be found. The hotel is located at the residential area, so it is quite quiet but feeling safe to stay. There is a small Aeon Supermarket nearby. We tried to take a taxi back to the hotel which just cost around 600 japanese dollars and it is affordable if you don’t wanna walk to the main sightseeing spots. The staff are so nice, they greet you with big smile every time you walk across the lobby. It is highly appreciated that they offer us a room immediately without extra charge when we arrived the hotel early in the morning. We are so tired after the midnight flight with the 2 kids without a proper sleep. We are supposed to check in at 3pm but they said our room is ready when we arrive at 10:30am. We take a shower and have a good sleep before having dinner. This is an excellent hotel I ever had in Japan.

It is close to subway station and key attractions. Front desk staff are very helpful and welcoming every guests with cheerful attitude. Room is spacious, particularly the bathroom area, in Japanese standard. Overall a pleasant stay that I would recommend to other travellers.

最新スタイルの快適なホテルでした
とても清潔感が有って、過ごしやすく快適なお部屋を提供頂きました。何より、ベッドの大きさ、硬さが完璧で二人で眠っても全く相手のことを気にすることなく休めました。また、お風呂もバスタブにシャワーが落ちるタイプではなく、洗い場でシャワーが使えて、広々として本当に快適でした。

The service is excellent. The room is very clean. The room has separate bathroom and toilet room which is a huge plus. Easy access from the train station too.

Close to the Saga Arashiyama station (5 mins walk, but no track noise could be heard from our room) this is a small modern hotel with classic Japanese touches. It's off the main tourist strip and so is very peaceful. The bed was exceptionally comfortable and the bathroom spacious and well equipped. The staff were both enthusiastic and obliging. A most enjoyable stay - we wouldnt hesitate to go back.
