Short walking distance to the all the main hot spots like Karawaramachi and Nishiki shopping areas, Gion and Pontocho but removed enough that it was a quiet location to retreat to. There's no laundry onsite but you can use the one in a nearby Kabin hotel or the public laundromat on the corner.

Loved the property. It’s smaller than I expected but it’s pretty standard for a Kyoto location. No complaints at all. Would also note that this specific Kabin location is very private. The larger one nearby is full of tourists and we enjoyed the privacy.

Disappointing
The accommodation was advertised as an apartment when it’s just a room. No daily cleaning or room service was provided and even for check in, one has to do everything. The main hotel was a short distance away and although the staff in the reception were afable, they were not very much helpful when it came to help with restaurant booking. It seems like one of those modern concepts in which the guest is pretty much responsible for every arrangement in order to save money to the company. That said, the room was not that cheap and as mentioned before, very misleading and disappointing to find all that only after arrival . I would not recommend to stay at this place

We loved it so much that we decided to stay longer. Very comfortable, clean and quiet. The sister property, only a block away, has great coffee and breakfast too. Close to Gion and 10 minute walk for the metro. Highly recommended! ❤️👍

The property belongs to a small group within the vicinity. All share amenities from fitness, laundry, breakfast salon, etc. easy walk from each location. Located on a quiet block with minimal vehicle traffic. Rooms are very clean and quiet.great lounge areas to regroup and recharge.

Amazing hotel and outstanding service. Not only is this hotel located walking distance from some of Kyoto's main attractions, but it's also a true gem. The furniture, decor, attention to details and great service will make your stay at Enso Ango Tomi 1 a real pleasure. We felt at home and would have loved to prolong our stay. Overall, the best hotel we stayed at during our 18-days trip through Japan!

Superb location, modern and yet very Japanese, incredible choice of kaiseki-style Japanese breakfast or Spanish tapas-style buffet to chose from; lounge filled with coffee, tea, refreshments, snacks and cereals for those who chose not to have breakfast included;
five sister-hotels in the same neighborhood, friendly speedy service, a gem discovery for a family of five. Perhaps the BEST new hotel in Kyoto and we shall return!

Personnel sympa, petit hotel moderne et propre
L'hôtel fait partie d'un complexe de plusieurs petits établissements tous situés à quelques centaines de mètres les un des autres dans un quartier calme. Du coup on bénéficie d'une bonne structure sans avoir l'impression d'être dans une usine a touristes comme d'autres hotels. Le personnel est super serviable, nous avons eu de très bonnes recommandations en terme de restaurants et ils nous ont toujours aidés pour réserver ceux que nos avions choisis nous même. La chambre en elle-même est très propre, assez spacieuse pour le japon (il est possible d'ouvrir plusieurs valises en même temps et nous avions un canapé dans la chambre) et bien isolée en terme de bruits de voisins. La connexion wifi est bonne, et la salle de sport est la mieux équipée que nous avons eu au Japon. Les stations de métro sont à une dizaine de minutes à pied dans chaque direction, et l'hôtel propose de prêter des vélos gratuitement. Il y a également plusieurs activités proposées gratuitement ou pas, par l'hôtel (cuisine japonaise, yoga zen, cérémonie des thés,...) toujours en petit comité.

Our stay in Enso Ango in Kyoto was simply marvellous. From its cleanliness, nice modern decoration in fusion with the old to caring and wonderful staff, this place is a must in Kyoto. Centrally located and close to all main avenues and tube stations make this hotel very accessible. We really enjoyed our stay. Thank you!
