'Eerste indruk negatief: onvriendelijk onthaal (wat een contrast met al die vriendelijke, vrolijke Ticos die we de voorbije 20 dagen mochten ontmoeten), koude, klamme kamer, geen andere gasten, te duur hotel voor wat het was, dure avondmenu (die we niet probeerden). Na 2 dagen wel enthousiaster, vriendelijke garçon, die overdag tuinman is in het hotel en die na aandringen open haard aanstak voor ons en wat meer vertelde over de historiek van het hotel,mooi interieur, mix van nieuw strak en oud...

'I have to say, first up, the bed was the best I have ever slept in. The mattess, pillows...just wonderful. The room was immaculate. We were upgraded to a deluxe room. It was beautifully furnished. Not your standard hotel room. You can see the fittings and the flooring were all chosen to reflect the elegance of this former stately home. The restaurant, bar and garden were beautiful. 'I enjoyed my time at Doubletree Hotel in Carirari in Costa Rica. The property is really unique and the openness gave the hotel such an great vibe. While the property was a little dated, the hotel was clean and the staff were very friendly. The hotel was close enough to take an Uber to downtown San Jose to see some of the sites. The hotel has a shuttle for drop off and pick up at the airport. I highly recommend this hotel if you're staying in the San Jose area. '

'I stayed at this property with my children. We chose this place due to the proximity to the airport. We had a wonderful restful stay. The property is in a gated community. The neighborhood is very clean, quiet, safe and family friendly. There was private parking and street parking. Owners gave us a warm welcome and made sure we had everything we needed.
