Five star Chalet Cristal des Neiges has been completely renovated to provide all the comforts of modern living but without losing the charm of a traditional Savoyard chalet.

Set in the tranquil Gotty area of La Clusaz, it's the perfect choice if you want to be close to all the Alpine action, but still enjoy a peaceful location. With spectacular views over the mountains, you're less than 4km from the centre of the resort and just 100m from the nearest green run to the ski lift and ski school.

The traditional village of La Clusaz is just a short drive away, and offers a good range of shops, bars, restaurants and nightlife, as well as markets where you can pick up delicious local produce.

This charming chalet sleeps 10 people in five bedrooms with four bathrooms.

The light and airy living area is on the ground floor, where you can relax on the sofas around an open fire or enjoy dinner together at the large dining table. A bar connects the well-equipped kitchen to the rest of the living area so if it's your turn to cook, you won't miss anything!

This area opens on to the terrace and balcony, which runs around two sides of the chalet to make the most of the sunshine throughout the day. The views are spectacular, and there's a lovely barbecue area too, so that you can eat outside in good weather. At the opposite end of the balcony is the jacuzzi - the perfect place to relax after a busy day. There's a shower room and separate toilet on this floor too.

Upstairs there is a double bedroom and two cosy twin rooms under the eaves. These rooms share a stylish shower room. There are a further two double en suite bedrooms in the basement, where you'll also find a really useful ski store, lots of hanging space and a laundry and drying room.

Everything has been designed to make sure your holiday runs as smoothly as possible, so all you have to do is enjoy yourselves!

ABOUT THE AREA ...

When you stay at Chalet Cristal des Neiges there's a great choice of winter sports minutes from your doorstep. The chalet sits just 100m from a green piste which will take you down to the telecabine and ski school.

There are nursery slopes and gentle blues on Beauregard and more experienced skiers and boarders will find plenty of challenge at La Balme. There are plenty of cross-country trails, particularly on the Beauregard plateau, and you can pick up a map from the tourist office in La Clusaz.

Non-skiers can try the ice rink in La Clusaz, go to the cinema, or try sledging, snow-shoe walking, dog-sledding and sleigh rides. If you're looking for the ultimate in relaxation, let your cares float away in the heated outdoor pool at La Clusaz, while the snow falls gently around you.

In the summer, there's no time to be bored when you spend your holiday at Chalet Cristal des Neiges.

When the snow melts, the pistes are transformed into lush pastures criss-crossed by hiking and biking trails. Take a hike into the Col des Aravis, or to the base of the via ferrata from the front door, and you may spot chamois or marmottes.

Enjoy the magnificent views across to the Mont Blanc chain from various points along the Col. If you don't fancy the long climb, some parts of the ski lift system open on particular days across the summer to ferry you and your bike into the mountains of La Clusaz or Merdassier, then you can descend at your own pace. Please check with the Tourist Office for up to date info on which lifts are open and when.

You can hire donkeys from a farm on the Col des Aravis for a day's trekking, or try horse-riding, climbing, and paragliding.

Just 35 minutes away, the medieval city of Annecy offers a great choice of shops, restaurants, galleries and museums, as well as swimming, boating, golf and watersports in the cleanest lake in Europe. At the end of the day, relax over a meal in a local restaurant, or perhaps a barbecue and a glass of wine on the terrace of your chalet as the sun sinks behind the peaks.

Please note: Chalet Cristal des Neiges is just above the green liaison which links Etale to La Clusaz village, and is kept open for as long as possible each winter season. In good snow conditions experienced skiers can pick up the track from the end of the road less than 100 metres from the chalet. However young children/ inexperienced skiers may need a couple of days and some confidence before using this track.
