When they say that 4x4 with high clearance is required, it is no joke. At least if you turn from Rt 142 driving from Monteverde. 6km of off roading at crawl speed. Fun if you are prepared. The road from the opposite direction is better paved, but you would still feel more comfortable in a SUV. Google does not estimate driving time on bad roads correctly. Expect extra time needed at the end. The place is small and basic, but clean. And the views are simply amazing. You oversee the valkey and the volcano throught the glass wall. The host offered to have dinner and breakfast delivered, but our communications was a bit delayed, so we went without. Bring your own food, or request in advance. Thank you for having us, we had a great time!
