Afgelegen, drie verdiepingen tellende slaapkamer met één slaapkamer, een pension van redwood en glas met een grote woon- / eetkamer / volledig uitgeruste keuken, Sur la Table couverts, drie blokken van Windansea Beach. Houtachtige heuvelachtige omgeving, designermeubels, lakens met een hoge draaddichtheid, handdoeken van Egyptisch katoen, regendouche, toiletartikelen van L'Occitane, eigen terras met bubbelbad en gasbarbecue, terras met uitzicht op de oceaan. Nieuw Saatva-queensize bed, tweepersoonsleren traagschuim in leren sofa, leren ligstoel, Zweedse houtgestookte open haard, TV / DVR / DVD, wifi voor het hele huis, pas gerenoveerd bad. Strandspullen, (stoelen, strandlakens, boogieplanken, strandtas, koeler) buitendouche, twee 7-speed strandcruisers met helmen en sluizen. Toegang tot wasmachine en droger. Eigen toegang en off-street speciale parkeerplaats voor twee auto's. Allen zijn welkom.

Dit historische pand (locatie van de La / Pacific Beach Electric Railway in het begin van de 20e eeuw) is omgeven door zes hectare permanente open ruimte. Het pand fronten op een verhard pad om te fietsen en wandelen, dus er is geen lawaai van de straat. Gasten hebben hun eigen ruime overdekte patio met een eettafel en stoelen in de buitenlucht en een chaise longue met kussens, die zachtjes verlicht is om 's avonds te ontspannen. Op slechts een paar stappen van de patio is een bubbelbad voor twee onder een op maat ontworpen sequenbos met kleine lampjes, uitgerust met twee zachte badstoffen badjassen en strandlakens. Een buitenfontein biedt serene geluiden.

De accommodatie ligt op een zachte helling. Gasten komen binnen via een kort privépad. Breng tijd door op een ander kort pad de heuvel op naar een afgelegen platform en een bank met uitzicht op de oceaan. Aan de voet van het pand bevindt zich een nis in het gebladerte met twee stoelen met Adirondack-kussens en een kleine tafel, perfect voor koffie in de ochtend of thee. De toegang tot het huis is beveiligd met elektronische sleutelblokken en sleutels.

Secluded Gem

Super quiet, well appointed with luxury details, but still rustic & cozy and only a short walk from the beach. We really enjoyed our short stay in La Jolla and look forward to returning to the area again soon!

A Slice of Paradise

I have to say: writing this review is difficult -- because I don't want everyone else to know about this place. My wife and I booked our stay to celebrate our 30th Anniversary and we couldn't have picked a more amazing house with fantastic hosts in a beautiful city. Everything about our stay was perfect: from the amazingly beautiful grounds to the cozy nature of the house. Having the kitchen was fantastic and that add in a beautiful outdoor patio and grill with hot tub -- eating in was almost better than eating out in La Jolla. The property feels so secluded: at night it is peaceful and quite -- except for the owl who kept us company at night and he was most welcome. And while the house is tucked away it was very easy to access all La Jolla had to offer from beaches to museums to restaurants. And our hosts provided everything: beach chairs and umbrellas and also bikes to not only explore the nearby trail but get around town if we wanted. We enjoyed our stay so much -- it was difficult to leave. We are very excited to return.

A Rare Find

Beautiful little 1 bedroom quaint cottage nestled in the woods. Quiet location in LaJolla close to Windansea beach and right along the local bike path. Private backyard outdoor dining with hot tub and small seating area with bench to view sunsets. The owner and her son are very nice, keep to themselves but are very attentive when needed. Loved it!

An interesting property in a lovely setting

My wife and I were celebrating our 55th wedding anniversary, so booked this property to give us a good base of exploring the city of La Jolla. We live in LA, but had never visited the city. The property was close to a beach with rocky shores and beautiful views. Our stay was marred somewhat by a loud, squabbling couple next door, and next door was VERY close. The hot tub was nice but closer to the angry duo. All communications with the owners were excellent. The house is multi-level, and rather smaller than the photos suggest. Also, it is older, vintage 1945, with all that that date may imply. We in the main liked it a good deal, and as a LA Jolla base it may be very good.

Jewel in the hills

The perfect getaway

As many of the reviews mention - the pictures do not do this property justice. It is the most peaceful and relaxing property I have been a guest at. Absolutely beautiful. We loved being able to enjoy a cup of coffee on the terrace and a glass of wine by the fireplace. Trish and Justin were fabulous hosts. We cannot wait to get back here!

Late February stay

We truly enjoyed our stay at the Windnsea Bungalow. As others have mentioned, the place is even nicer than shown in the photos. The lush landscaping is gorgeous, and the outside seating areas are well planned and executed. The bed and furniture are super comfy; we even made good use of the fireplace. Trish, Justin and their dog Daisy are fabulous hosts. They think of everything. The binder in the bungalow is full of useful and interesting information. It was such a pleasure to stay with them and hope to have an opportunity to visit again.

Wonderful

This place is so dreamy and relaxing — it’s our favorite place we’ve ever stayed. Loved the fireplace and hot tub, as well as cooking in the kitchen. There was some rain during our visit to La Jolla which made our stay here feel extra cozy, but we were able to take the bikes out during a break in the rain which was an incredible way to explore the area. Trish and Justin are A+ hosts — super kind and responsive. Don’t pass up an opportunity to stay here! We hope to come back soon.

A wonderful family vacation

From the moment we arrived we were made to feel at home! Trish and Justin were very hospitable. The property was amazing, with tons of windows and natural light. There was enough space both inside and outside the property for all to feel comfortable. The location is close to many beaches, shopping and restaurants, as well as markets, if we wanted to stay in and cook. My husband enjoyed the jacuzzi every night. The property comes with two bikes and we used them frequently throughout our stay. We hope to return!!!

Perfect little getaway for my wife and I. We had a great time. Location is on a hike/bike trail with bikes included at the property. We took full advantage of the bikes and could get everywhere we wanted easily.

Wonderful, quiet bungalow perfect for a getaway

We had a wonderful time staying at Beach Barber Tract. Trish, Justin and Daisy were just wonderful and have thought of everything. The location is ideal for everything in and around La Jolla and the San Diego area. We'll definitely be back for a future visit. Wish we had stayed longer as we didn't want to leave! David & Jeffrey
