We hiked some of the trails in the state park across the street and drove to the national park about 20 minutes away. Lovely place and thankful it was pet friendly so we could bring along our dogs! 'We had an amazing stay, the location of the house was perfect, and we were in easy reach of all the hikes, climbing, and other activities we planned for the week. Everything was amazing until the area took a direct hit from a tornado knocking out power for the rest of the week. The manager did a good job of communicating with us about the power outage (this house does not have a generator) so the lack of power in the entire area was not what we hoped for on our vacation but is also not the fault...

'The house was extremely clean and well stocked with any needed items. The bedroom and bathroom on the main level was a necessity for us as we had older family members that have a difficult time with stairs. The location was convenient, as our main reason for the visit was the Bridge Walk. It was just a shirt drive down the road. There were many places to eat, sights to see and other attractions to visit all within an approximately15-20 minute drive.'

'Property is located on a hill in the woods so very quiet. Parking was limited but close to cabin. Cabin is functional but a bit dated. Great water pressure and plenty of hot water. The location is outstanding if you are traveling for New River Gorge activities. While pet friendly, you are asked to crate them If you leave them alone in the residence so plan ahead. Check in was easy and owners were very nice. If you are going as a group for park activities, this place is great.'
